Hello everyone,
I have started my journey to better health, and I'm so excited to be adding raw foods to my diet. My diet for years has been soda and hot fries, so I'm easing into raw foods and vegetables because it's a shock to my system and taste buds. I've been about a month without soda and the migraines have been fierce. Even though I still eat cooked foods, I am detoxing. I've eaten more veggies in this past week than I have in the past four years put together.
I've been reading nutrition books for years; I knew what to do, but couldn't make myself do it. I'm not sure what happened, but I'm ready to make the change. I'm doing it gradually because when I try all or nothing I fall flat on my face. My main goal at this point is to eat one raw meal a day and weekly try a new fruit or veggie. This week I've tried bok choy, dandelions from my yard and raw tahini dressing, and for 4 days I've had two raw meals a day. I'm finding better success by not pressuring myself.
Anyhow, I'm so excited to be here and meet others on the raw journey. I live in West Virginia and I don't know any other raw foodists, so if you're out there I'd love to hear from you, or anyone else!

If there is a RAW REST. here it's news to me.

I live about 40 miles from the capital, but lived near the Capital City before my recent move.

Raw is starting to catch on.
The RAW books are moving in the stores now, when before you'd get an asthma attack from the dust LOL. I think we're all closet rawfoodies here. I have found that my requests for salads, or meals at the resturants I go to are met. I found that I no longer label RAW DIET, I say I can not have certain things. There is lil' to no resistance, they are always willing to help. i TEND TO GO TO ONLY PLACES THAT KNOW ME.

I wish you well
