Hi! I'm new to this site and love what I see here. I'm a new vegan and trying to transition over to raw. I just bought a new juicer and love it! Just changing to a vegan lifestyle has made me drop about 8 lbs in the last couple of months. This is huge for me, I've been stuck for the last several years and I kept trying to do the Body For Life style diet and it just wasn't making a dent. (I was successful with it in 2002, but gained it all back...and more). The first month I just tried being a vegetarian, but I figured why the heck am I going to do dairy and eggs if I'm not going to do meat and chicken? It all comes from the same nasty place. So, then I transitioned to vegan with a couple slip ups (which I paid dearly for, so not worth it) and now I'm trying to be raw as often as possible - the juicing is a big help. I don't know how long it will take me to be 100% but it's a gradual learning process. I hope I'm still welcome here even though I'm not ready to be 100%.

Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself!

Hi Mrs. Bob and you most certainly are welcomed here! :)

Everyone here is at different levels/stages of "rawness" and we're here to support you in your raw foods journey whatever level you might be at. So, anything raw food-related (with the exception of raw animal products) feel free to discuss and/or ask away!

Hi Mrs. Bob- WELCOME! I was an avid meat meater until 15 days ago. It was then I started Alissa's Challenge. I already feel converted to eating Raw! If I can do it, you can. This site is awesome. You'll find lots of support.

Cool! Thanks for the nice welcomes Rawkinlocs and Shan! I'll have to check out Alissa's challenge...is that the 30 day challenge thread? I'll go check.
Rawkinlocs, it is a gradual thing isn't it? What's funny is that I've wanted to be vegetarian for a long time, it just made sense to me - but I was brainwashed into thinking I needed a gram of protein for every lb I weighed - I kept trying to eat like a bodybuilder, but once I took that leap and left the meat and chicken behind, then veganism seemed like it made even more sense. And of course, the ultimate level is getting to 100% raw...
I have a lot to learn. I'm hoping to order Alissa's book and dvd after the first of the month...I think that will help a lot.

Thanks again for the nice warm welcome!
