View Full Version : I am constantly amazed

A few days ago I asked if you can "loose" your allergies, because I have been unable to eat avocados for years and years,( vomiting terrible stomach cramps etc) since I found my new way of eating I never ceased to be surprised at how many things I have been able to heal, the doctors say I will always have lupus, that maybe so, but I have no symptoms at all and haven't had for ages, I am not taking medications of any kind anymore and that alone to me is wonderful, I have had to restrict even the raw foods I eat because of allergies and sometimes I get a bit down and fed up, for a while now Ive been toying with trying avocado again as loads of the raw recipes use it and it used to be my favourite food, last night I hid it in my salad, I figured if it was to obvious I'd be more likely to worry about it and maybe will myself into being sick, I waited ten minutes, nothing, 20, nothing, a whole hour went by, and normally by this time Id be in a terrible mess, but nope, as well as ever, so this morning I am just amazed at this, I shouldn't be because Ive seen some pretty brilliant stuff happen to me since I went raw but this is the icing on the cake! I have to admit that I get frustrated with my doctor though, as Ive improved my heath to such a huge extent, and I try to explain to him why, he just cant grasp that its my way of eating that's changed, he thinks its all a coincidence, how can people be so blind to something so incredible and obvious.

Wow, congrats Cactus!! I'm so happy for you that so many things are improving, including your allergy to avocado! I know you were just too thrilled :)

Great! I get frustrated too with how doctors don't understand. I had to go for a check up at the doctor's to get a work permit two summers ago because I was only 17 and my job required it. Previously, my blood pressure had been high, like 140/80. This time when I went, I was all raw and when the nurse took my blood pressure, she said, "No, that can't be right." And she looked at my chart and said, "I want to try the other arm." She did and shook her head in amazement. "What?" I asked. She says, "Your blood pressure has gone down so much. It's 106/72!" I proceeded to tell her about how I had changed my diet and she obviously thought I was crazy and pretty much told me that changing my diet couldn't change my blood pressure like that. I was so frusrtated. I know it's the truth because I could never get my blood pressure into the optimal range until I was all raw.

thanks,it is nice to be able to use them, although I won't go mad just in case, but I'm looking forward to making one or two of the things in Alissa's book that sounded so nice using them,
Brianna.......... I know just what you mean, I think at some point, as word spreads that eating raw really is having significant effects and making people better, the powers that be will have to admit its importance in improving peoples health, I know the health system here in England is stretched to the limit, but the "some" people in the medical profession are very slow to accept anything that's not mainstream, maybe its up to all of us to spread the word, and it WILL become mainstream.
Bernard Jensen and John Tilden are authors you might find interesting with regard to this - in a nutshell, they both held the hypothesis (which I personally believe holds a huge amount of credence) that auto-toxaemia, as a result of poor bowel cleanliness over a number of years, can reach the point where the body is so saturated with toxins, and so impeded in its attempts to expel new ones, that it reaches a state of hypersensitivity to many foods, even though there is nothing really 'bad' about the foods themselves, it's just that the body goes into alarm mode and sees almost any chemical (food is nothing more than a package of chemicals, remember) as another potential toxin that will add to the unbearable toxin load already present in the body.
By eating a raw diet, with plenty of water-rich, enzyme-rich, fibre-rich foods, you will gradually cleanse your bowel, blood, and lymph and thus, if the above hypothesis is correct, you will more than likely experience a reduction in the number of alergic reactions you have to various food stuffs.

Thankyou Arky, I will search those Authors out and see if I can get hold of their book.
BTW, Jensen notes (also mentioned, in this regard, in Anderson's excellent 'Cleanse Thyself... - Book 1') that almost every case of hayfever he ever dealt with showed, upon x-ray, the exact same area of the patient's colon to be constricted. A very interesting observation, irrespective of whether or not you choose to believe it. Personally, I do.

Thank you Arky. I will take a look at this book because it is definitely me, unfortunately :( Do you know the name of the book or books they have written?
The most relevant of the Jensen books, in your particular case (although all of his books are a good read), would be 'Dr. Jensen's Guide to Better Bowel Care: A Complete Program for Tissue Cleansing Through Bowel Management', wherein Jensen quotes some of Tilden's most pertinent statements a number of times, and provides a great many observations and recommendations of his own.
Start with that, Anderson's 'Cleanse Thyself... - Book 1', and Norman Walker's 'Colon Health: Key to Vibrant Life '. They'll cover pretty much all you need to know on the topic.

It really is amazing. I know what you mean, when you first start out raw you believe you'll be healthier but you're fully prepared to have to deal with little aches and pains and you still believe that degenerative diseases can ravage you but surprise surprise, our bodies heal themselves as long as we give them what they need and deny them poisons. I'm so glad you're experiencing this. It's a blessing!
