I have been craving nori for some reason but that's not what is strange; it's the stuff I have been putting in them.

Tonight I made two different kinds: On the first one I spread 1/2 of an avocado, some wilted kale salad leftover from last night, cucumbers, and Alissa's spinach dip. On the second one I spread Alissa's mock salmon pate' in the middle, then I spread some tahini butter on the sides. On top of that I added Kim Chee and more of the wilted kale salad. I really want to dip it all in mustard. Is that strange? What in the world is my body craving????

Anyway, I was just curious if anyone else ever put weird stuff in a nori wrap. I would love to hear the combinations you have tried.

I make all kinds of patte and stuff to put in them. If I have extra hummus, paste, dips, or whatever I use them with nori. My avator is a garlic patte made with sunflower and pumpkin seeds a little olive oil, cayene, and jalepeno. I put pieces avocado, celery, carrots, beets and sprouts in them. Yummmmmy. my next experiment will be burger nori's. I am working on a new burger recipe of my own because I do not like any of the ones I have tried.

Maybe I will shred some beets next time I make nori. I think my body has had enough nori for a few days. Now I am in the mood for fruit. Lots of fruit. I think it's so cool how your body lets you know exactly what it wants if you just take the time to slow down and listen to it! :)

hmmm.....Paula I bet that would be worth a try. A fruit and nut patte and pieces of fruit sounds yummy, the nori would give it just enouh twang, kind of like celery. I may just give this idea a try.....hmmmmm

I haven't put anything particularly weird in nori wraps... I usually do avocado, cucumber, carrot, red bell pepper, and sprouts (and wasabi, even though it's not raw).

What's a nori wrap? Is that similar to a soft tortilla?

nori roll/wrap is seaweed that is flat (often called sushi rolls). It comes in sheets and you can make a variety of delicious cute rolls. They are great as a meal or snack and super healthy being its seaweed (B-12 etc....) They are great to fix for a party. If you have friends who like sushi they will love these even if they aren't raw.
