I usually use stevia in a dropper bottle. I opened a new bottle yesterday, but it's thick! And then I saw that the label says "Stevia Glycerite" instead of just "Stevia." What *is* Stevia Glycerite? Should I not use it?

"Other Ingredients: Vegetable glycerin and water." .... right? ;)
Glycerin:
* Serves as humectant, solvent and sweetener, may help preserve foods.
* Solvent for flavors (such as vanilla) and food coloring.
* Humectant and softening agent in candy, cakes and casings for meats and cheeses.
* Manufacture of mono- and di-glycerides for use as emulsifiers
* Used in manufacture of polyglycerol esters going into shortenings and margarine.
* Used as filler in low-fat food products (i.e., cookies).
Glycerol has approximately 27 food calories per teaspoon and is 60% as sweet as sucrose. Although it has about the same food energy as table sugar, it does not raise blood sugar levels, nor does it feed the bacteria that form plaques and cause dental cavities. Glycerol should not be consumed undiluted, as unhydrated glycerol will draw water from tissues, causing blistering in the mouth and gastric distress. As food additive, glycerol is also known as E number E422.
so to answer your question....... im not sure lol ... i use just regular stevia without this stuff, this is actually the 1st time hearing of this. i recommend stevia in the powder form, its not sticky, doesnt have that weird bitter taste if you use too much, but i wouldnt be surprised if it wasnt raw. liquid im not sure its raw either is it?

Ummm . . . maybe. I can't read the fine print on the label with my contact lenses in! :D My eyes are getting worse with age, and my lenses are great for most things, but I've lost the ability to focus on fine details close-up. I'll take a closer look tonight after I take my lenses out. If it's just vegetable glycerin, then I don't guess I need to throw it away. I'll make sure I get the plain liquid kind next time.
I've tried the powder before and I didn't like it. I thought the liquid might be more pure.
