I don't have a dehydrator but I love dried fruit. I buy organic dried fruit that has either no other ingredients or one preservative. That is the only food that I buy packaged. Does this mean that I am not 100% raw? And if so, what damage is this creating in reaching my goal of 100% raw foods.
I buy raisins, apricots, and bananas.....
Thanks,
Dan

Dan you gotta use your own judgement. I will not buy anything that has preservatives. Sun fried raisins and tomatoes are good, but I would be very careful with the rest.

Some commercial raisins are sun-dried (I know Sun Maid is), so those are probably fine. The apricots may or may not be raw... you might try calling the company to find out what temp they dry out. By bananas do you mean banana chips? 99% of the time, banana chips are fried, so chances are very good that they're not raw.

You would have to call the company to find out if these fruits are dried at low enough temperatures to preserve the enzymes.
