View Full Version : Quick 'n easy cookie dough

Hi again!

Whilst trying to make Whole wheat bread,
I ended up making cookie dough instead.
Here is my recipie. This dough reminds me of the basic doughs used for many popular cookies. Enjoy!

Basic cookie dough

5 C. sprouted, dried wheat berries ground into flour
Water to make a stiff dough
1/2 t. salt
1/3 C. raw honey
3 T. Mild buttery olive oil
Process until a smooth dough forms.

Spoon a round on teflex sheets the size of a silver dollar and dehydrate until desired consistency. This is also good before dehydrating btw.
That is your basic cookie dough. From there, you can add
vanilla, carob, ect. I added a dash or two cinnamon and some raisions to make an oatmeal cookie. This was delish.

Just use your imagination to come up with your own flavors for the basic recipe. This can make so many different types of cookies. Experiment with what you have in your cubbords. Have fun!

This sounds delicious!

One question -- do you grind the berries in your food processor to make the flour. or do you have to have a juicer with a special attachment? (I'm still pretty new to all this.)

Not Green Life, but I think a food processor would work just fine.

That recipe looks really good. Cookies .... mmmm! :)

Grinding the wheatberries would probably be best done in a coffee grinder or Vitamix (or other POWERFUL blender that grinds seeds and grains well) because the food processor is not designed to grind, but rather to chop and mix and more than likely, the grains will be broken up "some", but not ground up into a flour consistency.

I sure wouldn't want to try with my funky blender. You can smell the motor just making a smoothie. :(

Someday, when I'm done with university and my money-grubbing kiddies have left home, I am going to buy a really fantastic, kick-butt blender.

It's my dream. :D

Hi everyone!

i used my blender to grind the sprouted and dried soft wheat berries. I used "soft" wheat berries as opposed to "hard" wheat berries because its a pastry type dough that I'm looking for. The "hard" berries are better used for yeasty type breads!

Oh, and btw, I used a 15.00 walmart cheapo blender to grind the grains and it worked incredibly well.

Also it's best to remember that the ingredients aren't exactly because I never measure when making stuff. I just throw stuff in, LOL!!

I suppose I should. Anyway, some may like the dough sweeter, some saltier, ect. The recipie is extremely adaptable for all kinds of tastes.

I am eating one right now fresh from the dehydrator and they are very good, so satisfying. Sorry, Mom, I think I have found a better raw recipie for your delicious SAD homemade oatmeal cookies (and these don't even have any oatmeal in them, LOL!)
