I see a recent post where someone mentions "overeating" nuts and dates. I'm curious as to what exactly that means. Is it that eating a lot of nuts, dates, and dried fruit may make a person gain weight? I only ask because it's my understanding (maybe just from my own head) that if it's a raw diet, there really can't be eating "too much", unless one is worried about gaining weight from eating those heavier raw foods. Is that what it is?

Also, RawPriestess mentioned (in that same thread) canned olives. I'm curious about where one can get completely fresh/raw, uncanned black olives? I live in Michigan and have never seen black olives come any other way but in a can. I LOVE black olives, so how can I get some that wouldn't throw off a 100% raw diet?

Thanks all!

Yes, I think that's what it is. The ones who usually express an issue with too many heavy foods are the ones who aren't seeing the weight loss they'd hoped for.

Or, there are some (like me) who find that a lot of nuts is hard on their digestion system and makes them sluggish.

Eating more than is needed by the body constitutes overeating, no matter what food you're eating. You can overeat raw foods. You can overeat anything. Personally eating too many nuts and dried fruits makes me gain weight like crazy, but everyone is different and many people can eat whatever they want in whatever quantity they want and still remain thin. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them!
