So I wanted to make the rye bagels, but I cannot find rye berries anywhere, only rye flakes =(
Has anyone tried to mimic a rye flavor to make the bagels or a rye flatbread type of thing. I know the caraway seeds will help, but what about that kind of sourness that rye has?

I belief flakes are simply berries that have been rolled, you can't sprout them once they are rolled, but you could soak them. I'd try them.

Hmmm.. I was just concerned because I figured the flakes weren't raw. You know because oat flakes aren't raw, right?

Do you have a good HFS in the area ? You can ask them to get you rye grains to sprout ? I love the Rye Bagels for a heavier meal once in awhile. My non RAW husband loves them.
