I have been bitting my finger nails like crazy lately, anyone know why?!? Who here on this forum shaves there armpits/legs...what does everyone think about it. Since going raw I can't bring myself to do it, it feels to unnatural/time consuming. Hey here's a 30 day challeng for you- if your raw and loving it, and if you believe in the true power of inner beauty...don't look in any mirror or reflective surface for 30 days. Then see how you feel and what you do differently. When I lived in California I went 100% raw and got all of these crazy/amazing ideas. This was one of them. I only lasted 3 days. But when I looked in the mirror my appearance had actually changed. I think its because I couldn't really on "society" to tell me what to do. By this I mean -when I look in the mirror, whether its consious or not I form some opionion of how I "should" look or whats wrong with my appearance. Because most of us don't get out of the shower and say ok i'm ready to go I look beautiful. NO we go to the mirror and fix ourselves. Try this experiment ...I was happier for the 3 days because I couldn't "check" in with society I had to just go with it, and walk around like the most beautiful person. Its amazing how things change in your life when you walk around letting your soul guide you. Some other things I noticed during the 3 days was a little weight loss, because I only ate when i was "truly" hungry, my skin cleared up dramatically- I think it was partly my overly optimistic/ecstatic attitude... I actually couldn't stop smiling. I also didn't wear any cosmetics and put my hair the way it felt most comfortable- seeing as how I couldn't see. So let me know what ya'll think. Hehe * good luck- its actually kind of scary. ;)

Have a beautiful day*

Hi and welcome to the forum, I don't know for what purpose you have chosen to bite your fingernails.

but I don't use deoderant or any kind of soap or anything like that.

I shower and brush my hair, and I'm ready for my day, that's it, I figure if the Goddess loves me enough to make me in her image, then I am beautiful enough as I am, that is my belief today, I may change my mind tomorrow though. LOL

Rawpriestess,

What do you wash your hair and face with? Do you use conditioner? What kind of toothpaste? :0

I've heard that nail biting can be due to parasites. I used to bite mine all the time and I found out that I had parasites. Now that my parasites are gone, I don't bite them nearly as much. I don't know whether or not there is any correlation. It may have been coincidence.

I shave and use organic herbal splash that I buy at my health food store. I use the crystals or sometimes an enzyme/tea tea organic deodorant. I love smelling good, feeling pretty with no hair in my body, sometimes I use burt's bee's lipstick (that's the only make up I use) but all the time I use coconut oil as moisturizer and lip balmer, I also use Dr. Bronner's magic soap to wash my face, body, bath tub, toilet, floors, dog, lawn, everything lol!!!

I was a nail biter! i started introducing baby carrots in my diet and instead of biting my nails I get a pack of baby carrots and much on them. It has worked!!! Now my nails are long, prettier and stronger!!! :D

I use no toothpaste, no conditioner, no shampoo no soap on my body or face.

I used to use only honey, until someone made a comment about not being a vegan, and so I stopped just a couple of months ago, I find that my skin is beautiful and healthy, smooth and glowing, my hair is fine, and I just use a toothbrush with no toothpaste at all

I use vinegar as a deoderant but only about once a week, if is is in teh 90's or above, or if I'll be doing heavy labor, otherwise, I never use anything on my body.

once a month of so, I use strawberries mashed up on my face, or pineapple, or apple, I have used almond pulp as an exfoliant and I do put olive oil on my skin at times, not too often, maybe once every few months or so, mostly in the winter, when it is dry outside.

I live in a very temperate and moist climate, I think that is excellent for the skin, no drying wind or too much sun, no icy snow to dry out he skin, no squinting on sunny days, etc.

I've also never been a big sun worshipper, so don't have much wrinkles at all.

I used to use Dr. Hauschkas' when I did use stuff before I went raw. It was great. I know it is expensive, but now I just use water, sometimes I may make up a potion for a class, then I will use it on my face too, but only once a month or less.

I'm a nail biter and...a hair puller (eyelashes and eyebrows). I do it when I'm anxious and nervous.
