Raw Figure:

I read that this is a possibilty in the Hallelujah acres book....the author wore glasses for 40+ years then the transition in his diet and eventually does not need glasses at all :)

CONGRATULATIONS- I am trying this myself too! I will keep you updated :)

That's wonderful!! Congrats! That's what I think's gonna happen to me next time I go because my glasses seem to kinda "bother" me now...like I may need a weaker prescription. Sure hope so...hope to one day be OUT of these glasses once and for all!

yep, I am now wearing glasses that I wore 10 years ago, my old prescription was wayyyyy too high, LOL

the Doctor thought he made a mistake, I told him I only raw fruits and veggies nuts seeds and sprouted grains, and he said, well if that works, keep doing it.

LOL

Congratulations!

This is such a testimony to the raw life. Woo hooo!

This is good news, too as I am going to get my eyes checked next month.

What do you think you are eating/not eating to get such an improvement in your vision?

I'm really wanting to improve my vision. I'm supposed to wear glasses/contacts, but I never do except when driving at night or in adverse weather. I also wear them at church so I can see the screen to sing the songs. I have something called Yoga for Your Eyes, but the exercises take so long that I've never been faithful at doing them.

I think it is more what I'm NOT eating than what I AM eating,

I wasn't eating any dairy or meat, so that isn't it,

I don't eat processed foods or sugar or wheat, I think THAT is it, no processed foods or sugar or wheat.

As RP says I do think it is things we no longer eat but also what I did change in the diet w/in last 9 months is :

Added fruit 2-3 whole fruits a day. I ate litttle to none before.
More Veggies. I do 1-2 green drinks everyday full of greens, in the drink I get a full head of Kale or other dark green, Romaine, a few cucumbers and a whole big bunch of celery daily, large bunch of parsley too.

Are you juicing these ingredients, or whipping it up in a blender?

That is AWESOME news, thanks for sharing it! Woo-hoo! How exciting for you. :)

Wow, that is so great!!! It gives hope to those of us who wear glasses and sit in front of computers and watch our eyes get worse as the years pass.

I juice the greens I listed. I tried the blender and that works to but I find I have to strain some of the fiber out to make it drinkable !

I also eat ALOT of red cabbage, I slice it and it eat alone as a snack.

I think it would be funny if my eyesight got better than it already is... I've had at least 20/15 vision since I was young (may actually be 20/10, but the doc didn't check to that point). It's been awesome because my parents are both nearsighted and were younger than I am now when they first needed glasses. If my sight improved to 20/5 or 20/1, I'd just have to giggle.

My fiance has so-so vision though and has to wear glasses. In fact, he recently got a stronger prescription, but it had been 2-3 years since he'd had an eye exam. It would be super-awesome if raw food could improve his vision, because he doesn't like glasses much and we've seriously talked about getting him Lasik eventually.

For those who have improved, can you give specifics, such as the strength of the prescriptions before and after in either diopters(ie, +1.50 or -3.00, etc.), or in acuity(ie 20/60, 20/200, etc)?

I was just reading "Food as Medicine" by Dharma Sing Khalsa M.D.

The Bilberry fruit has been researched and proven to stimulate blood floww to the retina- thus improving ones vision....QUESTION: What is a Bilberry and where do you get them? Has anyone ever heard this? or tried a Bilberry?

Take Care,
FF ;)

This is such good news! Congratulations.

FF, I looked up bilberry and it's the blueberry - or closely related to them. Here's a page at wikipedia... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bilberry
