Hi All, this is my first post here but I have been reading posts here for sometime and love it so I finally decided to join. I have been raw for a few months now and have just started doing 8/1/1 to try and clear my body of candida and skin issues, anyway I slipped after a few days with the fat ratio NOT GOOD!!!!. I am now having major skin reactions to eating any kind of fruit as well as getting a very clogged head, stiff neck and shoulders and it feels like the glands in my neck below my ear lobe are swollen too. All things that had pretty much disappered before doing this

This morning I did a green juice and then drank water and lemon water the rest of today and things seemed to clear a bit. Well I was feeling a little peckish about 30 mins ago so I ate a pear and now I am getting that clogged feeling in my head again along with the skin reactions, stiff neck ect. Does anyone that has done the 8/1/1 have any ideas of whether to continue with this or stick to just veggies. I feel awful, It seems I have upset the balance of things, I think it has caused my leaky gut again and now I fear I am back to reacting to all foods again. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

I have never done the 811 because I feel that it is something to aspire to when I have been raw for a long time. Maybe you have set your goals to high to start with.
Alissa's motto of Just Eat Raw is a great way to start.
I hope that things improve for you.

it's someone else's diet plan for raw, not what Alissa teaches.

Hi RawRave,
The first time I tried 8/1/1, I backslid terribly because I tried to do too much, too fast. If you read/listen to Dr. Graham's materials, one thing he really stresses is DIRECTION, not SPEED.

The second time around, I'm doing a lot better. I haven't quite reached the "ratio" yet, but I'm doing much better, and feel MUCH less deprived.

Also, it takes practice to learn to eat enough fruit that you don't crave fat.

It is a process. We can't expect it to click overnight. =) It's so different from what most of us are used to.

Since you have specific health issues, you may be more concerned with speed than I am though. Have you read/listened to his materials or consulted with Doug about how to go about it? Maybe it would be helpful. I know his materials are not cheap, but buying his "Making Friends With Your Food" DVDs that he made with his wife, Rozalind Gruben, were amazingly helpful to me. They helped a lot of things click, and made things easier.

Just my thoughts. How are you feeling today?
