last night i took a bath with epsom salts, and this morning i took a few of those psyllium husk capsules... I read someone else doing that, so i thought why not!
i started exercising too and trying to drink more water than i normally do.
i read abuot dry brushing last night...
do any of you do any of the above? notice any differences?
Or what other detoxing methods do you use?
detoxing is really interesting to me. I know it will take time but I want to rid my whole body of toxins.
Last night i even bought all organic!!! I still have to finish my non raw olive olive and vinegar and honey but i know by eating all organic i can help rid my body of even more toxins!
would love to hear what you doing, what has worked, what you noticed changed and if you liked it or not!

I was told to take a bath with epson salt and apple cider vingar. I tried this and I'm not sure if I noticed a difference at all. but i was told this will help with thte detox process whatever that means. It may be worth a try.

You could also try the sauna this helps me alot as well as colonics and enemas in a pinch also help. For me also making sure that I drink water and keep hydrated. Remember the best ways to get rid of poison, skin, lungs, colon, urine. Also don't wear deodrant. This prevents sweat from escapin and the arm pits are a major location for this. Also wear light clothing preferably cotton or natural materials to allow for sweat to escape. Always bathe after dry brushing and brush towards the heart. Hydrotherapy has also been effective for me. Go in the shower and turn the water as hot as you can stand and then cold water then hot end at hot at night and cold if you are going to work. Look it up online it is very effective to help heal areas of your body that are sick from detox. I hope that you feel better. Make sure that you are having regular bowel movements as well this is critical.

I took a clay bath not too long ago. It's supposed to be great for detoxing, especially if you think you might have a lot of heavy metals. Quite a bit of the clay turned black, especially towards the back of the tub where I was sitting. This is supposed to be a sign that the clay pulled toxins out. It definitely had a weird affect on my body. While I was in the tub, my heart started racing. It was very strange. I could only stand being in it for 20 minutes. Then I had to get out and lie down. I felt pretty drained afterwords.
I've juice fasted before (most was 5 days), but no fast has ever compared to my being on a raw diet. I started two weeks ago and have noticed the following changes:
-incredible energy
-moments of undiluted happiness (which is wonderful because I tend to get depressed)
- softer/silky skin. My skin is normally very dry and my boyfriend keeps saying how soft it is now. Now I only have to use lotion on my face, not all over, like before.
- dandruff gone. I had a tiny patch that would never go away.
- Eyes clearer and brighter
- More love and patience for as well as interest in other people
- Needing to sleep much less most days
- Weight falling off like crazy and my clothes are fitting again!
- My face is no longer breaking out. Totally clear and getting a glow and my cheekbones are showing up.
- No more hypoglycemia. No huge cravings for sugar. I just get a little hungry now and eat something beautiful and fresh and I am set for hours. I was always told that fruits exacerbate hypoglycemia, but this is total BS.
I am sure there is more, but that is probably enough for now.

Hi Everyone!
I was raw for about 5 months before x-mas...then I fell off the wagon :( . But I'm back on it and have been back on it for about 2 weeks...100% raw. This time, I am sooo unbelievably tired. I mean really really tired. I don't remember this happening last time. Last time, I remember feeling great and having lots of energy. I'm not doing the combining thing, just eating when I'm hungry and making sure it's raw. I'm not taking any supplements. Any advice from any of the experts out there?
Jen ;)

Showering every morning doesn't help with my own BO... might not for you either. People have spoken highly of using lemon juice as a deodorant, so you might try that.
As for the clay, she's probably referring to bentonite, though I'm not sure where to get that. Using clay can clog up drains and septic systems, so use with care.

Far infrared sauna
Body wraps
Colonics and enemas followed by a wheatgrass juice implant
Drinking green juices and wheatgrass juice
Eating lots of sprotus
Hydrotherapy (going back and forth between very hot and very cold water)
Skin brushing
Rebounding
Massage
These are some great ways to detox your body.

What kind of brush does one use to do this skin brushing? I can't afford colonics, nor are they in my area. And I can't afford going to the sauna, so sounds like I need to do skin brushing and the water therapy you described.
Thanks for the feedback!
Brush, brush, brush . . :D

Just make sure it has natural bristles and not some funky plastic things. They sell them at Walmart, Target, even the grocery store.

Thanks for the feedback. How hard are the bristles supposed to be. Does it hurt? Ouch. Or is it soft like a hair brush?
Sorry. I'm a newbie!

Bladderwack and 80 ounces of water in a day helps to reduce bloating and water retention. Used on a daily basis "diminishes" the appearance of cellulite. I've lost upto 3.5 lbs in oneday with this stuff.
Fasting during Ramadan. Improved spiritual aspects of my life. Made me mindful of existing beyond the natural.
Real juice fast, always help me.

Yes, it is bentonite clay and it will clog your drain. You have to tape off the drain. You actually have to tape off any metal in your tub to avoid making contact with the clay. Supposedly it will do something to the negative charge if you don't. The negative charge in the clays is supposedly how it pulls the toxins out. Or at least that's what I remember.
After the bath, I just scooped up the mess with a dustpan and towels.
It is messy.

I'm not an expert or anything, but something similar happened to me. I was raw for about 9 months, then fell off for three months, then went back to 100% in February. I was sooooo tired. I was literally tired for about a month. I was like "what's going on, where's that good raw energy I had before." Cause I wasn't that tired for that long the first time I went raw.
Anyhow, I just rode it out. Slept a lot, rested, didn't really exercise much. After about 5 weeks into it, I finally got my energy back and felt better than ever. So my advice is, just be patient. Your body is using a lot of energy cleaning you out, and that's a good thing. One day you'll wake up and have your energy back.

Read the outstanding book "the detox miracle source book" by Robert Morse, Nd
You will not have many questions after reading this book, but you will have a lot of resources to follow up on. This is a great book for understanding and will lead you to try many different things. I experiment. What works best, is what works best for me. Read this book. You will love it.

I prefer to take the most natural approach. Eating mono meals of juicy fruit is very cleansing and will give your body the opportunity to do a lot of detoxing. I don't feel that our bodies really need all that other "help" in detoxing. It is a very natural process. Baking soda works great as a deodorant. Just moisten your fingers with some water, work some baking soda into a paste on your fingers and apply. :-)

I was just looking over old threads and saw your comment on deoderant. I have not used traditional deoderant for about 7 years now.
I use a Crystal Stick - many different brands in you health food store. You just wet it and rub on and you are ready to go. As a busy mum I dont get to shower every day and I have even gone several days with the Crystal stick still effective.
I have found that it does "run out" before it visually runs out. So I always buy the little travel size instead of the big size (for about $2) and I buy about three a year.
try www.thecrystal.com :p

Yes to skin brushing!!!
It's amazing...my skin is soooo soft now. It's a huge facilitator to detox considering it's our largest organ after all.
I use those rock crystals for deoderant...but it's not an anti-perspirant...It's great!

I have done the brushing. I do the epsom salt whenever my muscles are really, really sore and it really helps, but I haven't done it since I went all raw.
The only real detox method I use is raw, raw, and more raw. I know most people on here probally do not advocate colonics and enemas, but for me in the past they helped me brake through some challenges and really do some great detoxing. I have not used this method on my latest journey.
Another great detoxer I find is wheatgrass and it really works for me.
I use my own homemade raw conditioner and skin products to help keep everything open so I can release and not toxify my body anymore.

My two main detoxing methods are
* eating all-raw
* eating plenty of juicy fruit
I love sauna in winter. But I do not do it for detox. Rather, I like to warm up a little in this cccold ppplace I am lol! Nevertheless, I do notice some improvement in my skin.
Another important detoxing method is
* vigorous exercise.
I can't claim that I have been doing it lately though. :(

I also feel the same. Since going raw I have felt better, I am getting a few pimples but I use the restroom 2x daily, not watery and not hard, just right. I thought detoxing would be too harsh on my body.

Peronal experience...epson salts don't do anything for me since I don't sweat so the toxins don't come out...i swell up A LOT.
As for my dad without a sweating problem. Well, haha, he's cooked and the first time he did a salt bath the tub turned black!! He did it two weeks later and it was gray. Can you say EWWW! He doesn't even eat junk food or red meat!

Bladderwrack (Fucus) is a seaweed that has bladders in it - bubble-like things to make it float. Decades ago I saw it put in the cooler with lobsters. Never tried eating it. I like dulse.
For deodorant, try applying essential oils to the armpits. Tea tree oil, patchouli, and sandalwood are good ones to use. Dilute with jojoba and spray or rub in.

Oh yes, I've been using mustard powder for 2 years and love the results. My first encounter was using it as a mustard plaster for upper respiratory! Excellent results too.
My favorite is Dr Singa's Mustard Bath :)

Another one of my favorite detox remedies is.....
Meditating while lying down. Placing the appropriate cystal on each chakra. You get into that deep level of releasing those blockages and wakeup in a state of clearness............like you literally wokeup from the dead
