View Full Version : I had no idea raw food tasted so good...and is so simple!!!

Hello, raw food newbie here.

Yesterday was the first day I tried "raw food", and it was unbelievably good! And so simple! I tried to make a "butter" from a book for corn on the cob, but it was awful. I finally gave up and just put olive oil on a plate, rolled my raw cob in it, sprinkled a little lemon pepper seasoning and some sea salt on it, and it was delicious !!!! And so easy!!!

There is a lady here who is kind of mentoring me, and she pointed out that a raw lifestyle is more simple than I would think, and she was right!

After eating about 3/4 of the cob, my body didn't want any more. So I stopped eating. (That would have never happened while on the SAD diet.)

Then I bought some of those pre-made flax seed crackers and "Really Raw Honey". I put a drop of honey on a quarter-size piece of cracker, and I was in heaven! I have never tasted something so smooth, sweet, and so satisfying at the same time. Anyone who has eaten SAD knows if you eat sweets, you just crave more. That didn't happen. My body was happy and content. And I had a ton of energy to the point that I was up until 11:00pm...this coming from someone who would fall asleep at 7:30 two months ago on the SAD diet. And I feel great today!

I realize there are a ton of "!!!"s, but I am shocked. This totally debunks all of the SAD brainwashing. Raw food is so tasty. (By the way, I am sure the excitement of something new will wear off, so I will defintely need everyone's help and support. But until then...)

Hi Redfizz!

How nice to see another one so happy on raw! It really amazed me as well, just how simple and how good it can be.. The most funny thing I have people saying when I tell them that I eat raw vegetables, fruits and nuts only is "wow, it must be so boring always eating salad!" Well, salad is just not salad anymore! And variety? It is as rich as it ever were before..

Enjoy every step on the way! It is awesome! ;)

Congrats on your first day. I am sure we are all here to support you. Please keep us posted with your progress. Have you set any goals? My goal right now is to make it 2 weeks 100% raw. I am on day 4. Your free to join me if you would like too.

Hi Redfizz.. Congrats on starting Raw! That's great!

I also have noticed that my appetite is satisfied with a lot less food on Raw versus SAD. On SAD I could eat a HUGE plate of food, but on Raw...my body is satisfied with much less. It's probably because we're giving our body what it needs and wants, versus with SAD.. it keeps asking for more because its not getting what it needs!

Maybe that's why I was such a horrible cook and kept burning things!!! It was either my body or the good Lord trying to tell me something! LOL
