Hi Everyone,
I am new to this board, and decided to start the 30 day challenge. Today is my second day. I am 203lbs now, started at 205lbs. My aim is to get to 170lbs at the end of the challenge.
I would like someone who is seasoned in raw to assist me by periodically looking at my journal, and making suggestions to get me in the right direction.

Thanks

I am not seasoned by any means but I would like to caution you on your weight loss expectations. When I did my 30 day challenge, I really expected the weight to fly off and it didn't. I lost about 10 pounds in that first month. I was very disappointed. I had decided that I would give it a month and decide what to do from there. Luckily, I felt better and have decided to stay mostly raw. Even though I felt better, I also expected every allergy to go away and to have this surge of energy. Neither of those things happened for me. It really helped me to remember that it is the journey and not a destination. I have read quite a few other people on this forum who did not see immediate weight results. Give it a chance and see what results you get. Good luck.

I also would say not to pressure yourself too much with the weight loss - going raw is about becoming healthy, detoxing, cleansing, eating live food loaden with life. And you also lose weight on this eating lifestyle, but I believe it should not be the major reason to go raw.

For some people, weight just seems to drop off, others need some time and it sort of melts off very slowly.

I am just afraid that if you have really high expectations, you might be disappointed in the end if the weightloss isn't what you expected it to be.

I'd have to agree with Elaina... 30 pounds in 30 days is not only a lot to expect, but it's also unhealthy to lose weight that quickly. You're talking about losing 15% of your body weight! 10 pounds is a much more realistic and healthy expectation.

Thanks for your words of advice. i will certainly move ahead with the expectation of renewed health, instead of weightloss.
Thanks again for all your responses.

I know where you're coming from T-Net. I started the Challenge six days ago. I started it primarily because of my depression and Candida. I am almost 100 lbs overweight and of course I want it to come off as quickly as possible. It's hard not to get on the scale. I've lost six pounds in six days so far and that's exciting for me, but I know it's unlikely to continue at such a fast pace for more than two weeks. But even though I've lost some weight, I'm trying with all my might to focus on the main reason I'm doing it: my health. I don't know about you, but for me, if my reason to eat healthy or go on 'a diet' is to lose weight so I can look prettier, I never make it past two weeks. I want this to be different. I want this to be more than 30 days. I want it to by a lifestyle change to make me and my family happier. Even if you don't loose as much weight as quickly as you want, I hope you'll stick with it!

thanks Shan for your words of encouragement. I think we are in the same boat,. in that we just start the raw lifestyle. Maybe we can become buddy's. what do we think.?

Let me know. I know for sure that i need an accountability person, and that's why i join this challenge.

Have a great weekend, and stay RAW
