My kidneys have been hurting for the past 3 days. I am assuming that this is part of detox. But I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem too?

I am going to be drinking a lot of water today with lemon and eat watermelon only. My husband's kidneys are also hurting. Strange huh?

Any tips or similar experiences? I would love to hear.

I am so glad you posted this, because I have been stressing about the pain in my kidney area for over a week. I have a doctor's appt. tomorrow, but I am afraid that if I have an infection, he will want to put me on antibiotics. I have one normal kidney and one pelvic kidney, so both front and back are hurting. I have also been going to the bathroom a lot in the last two days, so I am hoping that whatever toxin is in there is now coming out.

I would be anxious to hear from others if this is a detox symptom. I also would love to know if miss linda has any advice as far as herbs go. I had some dandelion tea a couple of days ago and that made it seem worse. I have been drinking nettle tea, and I hope that will help some. Let me know how the watermelon and lemon water work.

Have you eaten something different or new? I have been trying to figure out why I have been feeling this way and I just can't put my finger on it. Maybe my body wants to get rid of some nasty stuff right now. Who knows?

Keep me posted on how you and your husband are doing. I'll let you know if I find out anything from the doctor.(ha-ha)

Well my kidneys hurt too, but mine are diseased, so that's no big surprise... *shrugs*

Well, today is a little better. I have been feasting on watermelon and drinking lots of water. Hate to get so personal but my urine has been very dark as well. I really believe that I am detoxing because my kidneys have always been perfectly fine.
Husband's kidneys are fine today. His only hurt for one day.

I am a little surprised that more folks haven't been through this.

Report back on the doctor visit!!!

Spectatrix, so sorry to hear about your kidneys. That's terrible!

I found that having nuts too often gave me severe back pains in the kidney areas. When I back off for a while, then the pain disappears. So now, just have them occassionally, and it's fine. I have kidney problems anyways (genetics), so I need to be aware of certain things and learn to adjust. The positives of eating raw (organic) far, far outweigh some potential problems, so it's worth spending the time to find solutions to these new challenges. The oxalic acid in nuts causes some big time problems in certain people - could be part of your problem - it is for me. Looking forward to hearing some good results whatever you do.

Whenever I don't drink enough, my kidneys give me really bad pain and I have to lie down it hurts so badly. When this happens, I drink a large glass of water (like a quart) and the pain goes away in about a half hour.

Glad you posted this. I was just going to post something similar. Whenever I fast around hour 12 (of being awake, never while i'm asleep) I get horrible kidney/back pain. Sometimes so bad I can't breathe or it's worse. In my case I think it is detox, but I'm not sure.
