View Full Version : Is it possible not to have detox symptoms?

I have been reading all the threads on the first few days of detoxing. I have been waiting, dreading actually, the headaches, nausea, etc. Well, I am on my third day and haven't had any of those symptoms. My tummy has been bloating pretty badly in the afternoons, like someone is blowing it up like a balloon. But other than that, I feel fine.
I did transition for a few weeks. Could that have something to do with it?
Or should I just keep waiting -- the detox will happen at some point?
I'm only on Day 5 eating raw and I've been waiting for all these bad de-tox symptoms to happen and except for a mild headache and a bit of diahrrea on day one, and some aching in my back and shoulders I haven't felt much of anything. I've done parasite cleanses before and it's been brutal. I've really been enjoying this. So far no cravings, it really is feeling quite normal to me (suprisingly). My moods have been so nice and level. My digestion has been great, and I have a little more energy. Maybe the detox symptoms don't happen to everyone all at the same time. Maybe I'll get some later.

Some people never have detox. I have read about people like that. Others don't get any detox symptoms for weeks or even months after they go raw. Some people detox once, some detox on and off with weeks or months between detox episodes. So, ya never know.
It's just one of those wait-and-see things.

It is possible to have no uncomfortable detoxing effects. I never had any, but then I had been changing my diet over the course of a couple years before going raw and when I went all raw, I was basically already eating 75% raw.

Generally the more you transition, the milder your detox symptoms (if any) will be. Going 100% raw from SAD typically brings on the worst detox.

I'm on my 54th day (not that I'm counting) and no detox to speak of yet. I have had a few mild things but nothing serious. I was already a vegan and had been dabbling in raw for a few months.
Um, maybe I should not be stating this?!! Don't want to jinx myself!

well this is the second time I have decided to go 100% raw. I been high raw all my life and I guess because of it, I have never experienced really tough detox symptoms. I may get some scratchy throat but nothing really major. I also make the transition really easy by eliminating one cooked food out of my diet in a daily basis. I am almost there, some days I could be 100% others 80% depends on mood and situation. But either way, no major symptoms, barely anything...

I had weird joint pain today. I had knee problems when I was a runner years ago. My knees never hurt unless I'm running. Now (on day 3) my knees hurt a little on my long walks. Is this normal? Otherwise no detox symptoms... well maybe a little tired but that is it.

I have symptons off and on. Many times when I have went 100% I have been really sick with detox, migraine, throwing up, break outs and more. This time around so far I have had a very light headache (no big deal), a little sinus drainage, and some rash like breakouts. If you are doing 100% and you have a detox GREAT, if you don't have a DETOX great. The important thing is that you are doing something for you.

I felt great the first couple of days of going raw, but then the symptoms hit me hard on day . . . three or four, I think.
Maybe you'll be lucky! The toughest thing about it is, is . . . is this really detox or is this not agreeing with my system for a reason. You start to doubt the diet.

Today is day 4 -- and nothing. A little tired, but I will take that symptom if it's all that it's going to be! Thank you, everyone, for the input. This site makes me feel like part of a community -- no one I know is raw (my fiance is raw if I am cooking, but other than that ...) Although I have to tell you, my mom is planning a dinner next week and actually asked what she could make me! I know she thinks this is nuts, but at least she is accommodating!
