Hi,
I read some time ago that if you are toxic it will slow weight loss.
With most of our bodies being toxic from eating the S.A.D.)sad american diet) i can believe it.
Has anyone else heard this?

yes. Your body usually wants to focus on the main healing and THEN focus on well, appearance. It wants to detox all the bad toxins to get you healthy before it owrks on the excess weight you may have to lose.

My RVD said this may be what my weight problem is at least partly. He said to make sure I was detoxifying. I did an infrared sauna and the next day I had lost a pound. I am doing major detoxing right now ans making sure my lymphatic system is being stimulated by skin brushing. After the skin brushing, I take an epsom salts warm bath which draws out the toxins. I feel MUCH better after the salt bath. I will know on the next week or so if this helps me to lose, but I sure feel much better. I also just purchased a portable infrared sauna on ebay that I will begin to use regularly when I get it.

I believe what happens is when your system is too toxic, there is no where for the toxins stored in your fat to go so you are stuck. If you detoxify either by infrared sauna, exercise, stimulation of lymphatic system, physillium husk or epsom salt bath (I believe all of these together are VERY effective detox), then the waste (toxins) are moved out of your body and then your body can then let go of some fat because there is more room in your system for the toxins until they make it out through urine or feces. It is VERY important to detoxify your colon because the waste from the lymphatic system drains into the colon. If you have too much toxins in your colon, your lymphatic system gets backed up and that is why people feel toxic. I started taking psyllium husk capsules which suck up the toxins from your colon walls and go out through your feces. This will let toxins from the lymphatic system drain out and then more fat can then be let go and the the toxins have room in the lymph to again drain into the colon.

:p I need to get some epsom salt. Also would love to have a sauna, saw one for sale but the guy wanted a $1000.00 for one. I hear that they are a great thing to have in the home.
Thanks for all the valuable info. I'll be doing some of the things you mentioned.

my weight loss stopped recently.
My body appears to be concentrating on clearing out old stuff.
I have been trying to aid the elimination process by using psyllium husks, lots of sleep, exercise and a colonic.
Im sure the weight loss will resume once this episode is over

blessedjanz,

Hi! I just purchased a portable infrared sauna for 285.00 on ebay. It is like a tent that you sit in with your head sticking out.

just google "portable infrared sauna" or go on ebay and look there.

Do psyllium husks work differently than flax seeds? Pardon my ignorance. I am still really new to this stuff. I try to sprinkle flax seeds on my breakfast fruits, but this is the first I am hearing about psyllium husks.

Thanks!!

A toxic body defninitely prevents weight loss. As you change your diet and lifestyle, weight loss will follow. It's all a part of becoming healthy.

a bit stuck..myself... :o this week I have resumed morning skin brushing, consuming more water, visiting the sauna at least twice per week...& surprisedly when I slow up excersising( less miles / two days off instead of one) I feel better & drop weight faster...

So, all in all I am kinder to myself...& trying not to focus on my weight per se...but instead the re -committment to all that makes me well & healthy...

What sort of brush should be used for skin brushing? Where does one purchase one? Thanks!

Sarah I got my brush in the health food store. Look for a vegetarian fibre one, you want something natural not synthetic.
