Waking up
Ready to eat raw for the whole day
Morning - 100% raw
lunch- 100% raw
Dinner- oops! Messed up.... I might as well eat WHATEVER I want to now

Ya'll know what I mean.
Sometimes I slip by eating a cookie or something and just go SAD the rest of the day.
LoL, It's kinda pathetic.

You will be surprised at how common this is. There was a poll a while back that asked when folks felt the weakest. I believe it was 100% for evenings.

This is definitely the time that the Craven monster comes in (Yeah, I named my cravings). What has really helped me out (though I fall sometimes) is having dinner either prepared or know for certain what I am preparing.
Also, if I am busy the cravings are not as bad.
I also focus on a favorite raw food (like mango or cantaloupe or something) instead of what I am craving.

MissLinda said that she talks to her food. Hey, if it works go for it.

But, yeah, evenings are the toughest. Once you concquer the evening cravings, you got it made. :D

OMG YES.. too often! The only thing that helps me is to stuff myself in the afternoon on any & every raw thing I can so i'm full when the cravings come! LOL!

yes, that totally happens to me. if i have the littlest cooked thing i just say "oh well" and go on my cooked way.

the good thing about knowing your pattern - like if you tend to slip at night - is that you can plan ahead to avoid the slip. ie - make sure you have a yummy raw dinner prepared, or a new recipe to try, or whatever. avoid restaurants if you feel unsure you will make it, etc

yes evenings are rough, but I find lunch to be the hardest because in my work lifestyle that is when we eat out alot. I have to prepare my food for the day prior to leaving so before lunch I can fill up and then I will order a simple salad or something when we go out. KEEP FOOD PREPARED, is the best way to stay 100%

Yes, this happened over and over and over (so far I've been ok since I started the Challenge on May1). My solution has been twofold: (1) I make sure to have a raw dessert ready and (2) I give myself persmission to eat anything I want as long as it's raw. This has helped 'cause if nothing else it makes me so full that I don't want anything! I also drink a ton of lemon water starting at about 1 or 2 pm. Hang in there. We all have such crazy food issues.

sosiesmom,

I appreciated your comment about allowing yourself anything as long as its raw. I think that has been my biggest issue in the past is I can't eat this in the wrong combination and I shouldn't eat too many of this or I shouldn't mix this with this. Now that I am allowing myself to eat what I want when I want in whatever order I want I know I can stay raw.

ChaiLife, it's interesting you named your cravings monster Craven, because that's an actual word that means "cowardly" or "lacking courage." Adds an interesting dimension to the issue, doesn't it?

Evenings are tough for me too. I have four little ones that I cook for, as well as a husband who, since he never gains weight, thinks it's fine for him to indulge in junk food. I've found that having really strong raw flavors helps cancel out the cravings sometimes. For example, right when I get home from work, before I even think about getting food for the kids, I make a big glass of apple/carrot/ginger juice, really heavy on the ginger, to last me throughout the cooking & evening routine process. I've also turned to really strongly flavored lemon water. Good luck... we're all dealing with it!

Yes, me too! I'm new to the board (love it love it! Totally addicted to it!) Banana Shake, I am the same. I have 2 girls that I come home to and have to feed (my hubbie makes his own meals (not raw :< ). I don't end up making dinner for myself until around 7pm. I just came to work today with a HUGE bag of food (I was laughing at myself), but you have to have food ready with you. I also make sure I know in my head, what I'm going to make myself for dinner. I'm still working out the kinks, but it gets better every day. Hey Banana Shake, I live in Chicago and noticed that you live in Northern Illinios! We should chat since we live close!
