I've been making variations of the delicious banana ice cream.

2 I really like:

1. Cinnamon - Add cinnamon. Mix the vanilla extract and honey together. Swirl into the ice cream like caramel. No nuts.

2. Maple Nut Swirl - Add Frontier Maple extract to the ice cream instead of vanilla. Add the nuts. Mix a tiny bit of vanilla extract into some honey and swirl into the ice cream like caramel. My favorite!!!!

So do you freeze the bananas first and then puree them? Sorry I'm a newbie.

Shan, yes you freeze them.

I find just adding cinnamon is enough because it's sweet already. Another great way to make the ice cream is with carob powder & agave. Great substitute for chocolate.

I like my banana ice cream with berries and cherries. Cherry is my favorite though. I've also done carob, but I like berry better.

Just mix it all up in your blender or food processor. If you don't have powerful appliances, you might need to add a little bit of warm water to get the blending started, but as a warning you'll end up with something more like banana pudding if you do that. It's still yummy though!

I just put about 1/2-1 whole fresh banana for every 2 or so frozen bananas instead of water that way it doesn't it too pudden like or so I have experienced.

Nini- I love your name, I call my best friend that!!

I just made some really yummy banana ice cream the other night:

I blended frozen bananas with 2 Tbsp raw carob powder, a tsp cocao, and a squirt of agave nectar...then I seperately blended some frozen raspberries and blueberries and plopped it on top...SOOOO good, but it melted really quickly and I just didn't make enough!! ...must make again soon..hmmm!

I didn't think to use cinnamon..I don't have any vanilla right now though.

I made bluebery swirl yesterday...banana pureed and blueberrie pureed then swirled together.

My favorite is Pumpkin Seeds ground to a butter, orange flavored stevia (you could use agave) and banana's. Yum.

for the newbies,

peel banana, break into pieces pop into freezer, then you can use a food processor or a Champion to make ice cream.

adding mint and cacao or carob and nuts adds soooo much to the food.

I make a multi fruit ice cream with peaches, tangarine, banana, pineapple, coconut, and dates, mmmmmm tropical splendor

I also like
cashews, apricots, and pecans,

and
banana raspberry, walnuts and figs

I just planted some chocolate mint in my garden. I wonder if it will be good in the ice cream. Have you tried that RP???

An edible miracle, and I’m here to share it with you.

It is banana ice cream with kiwi, coconut, and (the bit that sends it over the top) some lemon balm leaf and elderberry flowers. This is probably the best stuff I have ever tasted.

Ah! :heart This is one beautiful thread!

I keep it simple and L-O-V-E Vanilla Bean! It is usually frozen bananas, a little bit of coconut water with pulp (if I have it, if not almond mylk) and ONE fresh Vanilla bean. Throw it in the blender and YUMMMMMM!

Vanilla Bean/Banana Ice cream. :woot:
