Well, tommorow will be 1/2 way through my first 30-day challenge. I had some things come to me today that I would like to share:
1) I think a great deal of healing would come to people if they put love and time and energy into their food, even if it wasn't raw. Having to slow down, think about and prep for my meals has made me appreciate what I am eating and really taste it, unstead of gulping it down mindlessly. Even just slicing my fruit in the morning had become a mindful excersize that I really enjoy.
2) For me, the simplicity has become an important part of my experience. A meal can be apple slices and almond butter, or a cucumber with sesame seeds. Simple. I'm sure that someday I might feel the need to try complex recipes, but for today, I want to taste just one or two things at a time...really taste them.
3) Oh, the gratitude. I know there are so many people in this world without the ability to choose what they eat, or if they eat at all. I feel soooo grateful for the opportunity to make this choice, and I'm trying to remember to bless and dedicate my meals to those who may have an empty stomach right now.
4) That there truly is not one-size-fits-all with this. You have to do what works for you, and trust your insticts about yourself. Today I just felt that I needed fruit and avocados, so that's what I had. Yesterday I ate all raw food, but then had a small bowl of cooked pinto beans. I didn't eat them with guilt or remorse, only pleasure. I enjoyed them, and felt well afterwards.
Anyway, just some thoughts. I am very much enjoying this time of mindful, greatful, simple eating and wanted to share.
Peace,
Karen
