My 75 yr old mom noticed my rosy cheeks yesterday and assumed it was from makeup, but I don't wear blush. It was my all natural HEALTHY glow! :p

She said that was another nice advertisemnt for going more raw for herself. I am trying to convince her. She is in good health and I have convinced her to really amp up her fruits and vegies. I gave her "Slaughterhouse" to read and she is weaning off of animal products now.

Does anyone have any stories they can share of how going more or all raw helped an elderly person, maybe a family member or yourself? I would like to share some good stories with momma.

Thanks all!

you might want to try Elizabeth Baker, she is in her 90's and cured herself using raw.

her book is the un-cook book.

I didn't much of her online, although there was this, with a picture of her and a brief blurb about what she cured herself of:

Elizabeth Baker is an excellent example of living the raw life style and she lived to be 92 and passed away last fall. She lived in the same town as I do and I was very lucky to have attended a workshop on Raw Gourmet Food with her (and a fabulous raw dinner!) many years ago. Each of her books has a bit of her story in it too, she cured herself of many illnesses and was just a wonderful spirit, I am very glad to have met her!

I feed my mom as much raw food as I can (she is 85) but her digestive system can't handle much. Anything you can do to introduce more raw into your mom's diet will be great!
