I didn't want to take over the Food Poisoning thread so I started this thread. I've been feeling really bad for the last 2 days and especially today.

I have bad diarrhea, chills and a very sore stomach. I've never really felt like this before.

I have only been high raw for a over a week (maybe 2).

Is this detox?
Food Poisoning?
Parasites?
Too many nuts?

Do my symptoms match with any of those?

I've been drinking ginger/peppermint tea, taking olive leaf and grapeseed fruit extract and I do feel better but I want to know where I went wrong and what I can do to avoid feeling like this again.

Thanks!

Have you read this?
http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3605

But lemme ask you this...you say you're "high raw"...what non-raw foods are you consuming? It could be a cleansing crisis or it could be something else...not enough info to know...but either way, your symptoms are STILL your body's way of trying to DE-toxify whatever it is that is in you that needs to come out. So whether it was due to your past diet, your non-raw foods, something having been contaminated or what have you...the symptoms you've listed are your body's effort to get rid of whatever is threatening it within.

Try to not eat anything and if you do, make it very light, rest as much as possible and hope you feel better soon!

Hi Rawkinlocs,
Yes I did read that but I am still not sure if it is detox I'm feeling?? Coudl I be feeling like this from eating too many nuts and seeds? I have been preparing a lot of dishes with lots of nuts in the last couple of days.

I added a bit more to my previous reply after my initial link to the article.

Take a look!

But yeah, it could be from eating too many nut-heavy dishes. I know that at first, I could eat a LOT of nuts but now, I have to limit the amount I eat or I will feel not-so-well in the stomach...especially if the nuts are combined improperly with other foods.

You will, overtime, learn to listen to your body's signals and you'll know when it's too many nuts or too much of a combined recipe or if it's cooked food or if it's detox, etc.

Yes something is not right in my body. I am high raw but I am still eating cooked bread (although sprouted) and a few things such as tofu. My diet was very pure before high raw so I didn't think my detox would be very severe, if at all.

I am thinking I am eating too many nuts and seeds and I am going to cut way back on those. I was feeling amazing up until 2 days ago when I started to add more nuts. Can excessive nut intake do this though?

Thanks for your help! It's very much appreciated!

Okay I see your last reply and I am going to conclude here that it's probably nuts and cut them way back. A lot of raw recipies call for a large amount of nuts I've noticed.

Thanks for your help!

Again, it "could" be the nuts...but it "could" also be that sprouted bread or that tofu because it is still cooked food.

Cooking food, no matter how pure the food is considered to be, changes the structure of that food and denatures it...the body recognizes it as something toxic...something it needs to fight against. Many may not believe that, but from what I've read, it's been proven.

But try cutting back on the nuts and nut-heavy dishes and see if that helps. It's a possibility that's what it could be...but I'd always say that before you blame the natural, raw foods, take a look at the cooked ones. Your body is becoming cleaner because you're eating more raw foods...it may begin to no longer tolerate cooked foods (even healthier ones) that it once did. I tried eating some steamed veggies once and it just did NOT agree with me.

I can see too many nuts causing indigestion or upset stomach even, but not the chills and diarhea unless they were contaminated some how. I CAN, however, see the chills and diarhea being detox.
