It tastes so BAD! omg I almost gagged!
I even tried to add dates to it but didn't change a thing. Dissapointed!
Never been a problem for me, although adding too many can make the smoothie too 'pulpy', on account of the high amount fibre content.
I have heard people complain about Ann Wigmore's Energy Soup, but many consume it without complaint and get great results.
I've even heard people complain about the taste of maca, but to me it's utterly palatable! :)
I guess we all have different interpretations of what tastes good and what tastes bad. One thing most raw-foodists notice (myself included) is that one's tastes alter over time so that what once tasted too bitter (or whatever) now tastes quite palatable. Going back to SAD food, it is often shocking (although quite understandable..) how awful it now tastes, when once we might have rather enjoyed the stuff!

You are right on this! I did drink the smoothie and thought of it as medicine lol!!! I tried alfalfa and I think I put too much oops!
I will give myself more time to like them on smoothies, for now, just for salads! :D

I think that some are worse than others but the trouble is that by the time my sprouts are ready to go in to a smoothie I have forgotton what it was that I sprouted.
I add them every day and in fairly large amounts. I agree that it would be nicer without them but I want the benefits so I am prepared to make the sacrafice.
I have decided that from now on my smoothie is going to be a soup. When I have finished making it I am going to add some chopped onion and tomatoes and serve it in a bowl. This is to get me to chew it in the hope that I will digest it better. I seem to have poor digestion and probably low stomach acid.
To be honest, Alfalfa is one of the sprouts you should be careful not to consume in large quantities, anyway, so adding huge handfuls to smoothies would not be particularly beneficial to your health, even if you did find the taste palatable. I find mung beans are ok in smoothies, although, to be fair, even these don't have the most pleasant taste in the whole wide world :)

Great idea, Sport. As well as encouraging a greater contribution of saliva to the equation (which, based on personal experience as well as much reading, definitely helps digestion) also makes the high fibre content more palatable than 'drinking' it down.

Well I need to thank you for pushing me in this direction. Your help in other posts regarding my digestion steered me in this direction so thanks. You are an asset that I appreciate.

I use sunflower sprouts & it works well in smoothies. I like sunflowers because they don't have a strong taste. I almost stopped eating sprouts because I didn't enjoy alfalfa in my salads.

I use sprouts in crackers and breads, the sour-ish type tastes works well to mimic sour dough breads etc.

I've used sprouts in green smoothies and had no problem. Maybe you just put too many or the wrong type. I wouldn't want something really spicy in there.
