Hi! I'm moving back to Frostproof, FL. This is near Avon Park. I've been 99% raw since October, 2005 and would love to find others in the area to visit with for support and encouragement. Anyone live close?

I live in Rockledge, near Cocoa and Cape Canaveral. It's not really that close, but it's not that far, either. Welcome!!

I'm a homeschool mom, too. How old are your children? Are they all raw? I do hope we can all meet sometime!

Hi Joyful Mary,
I have one ds -- he is 9 years old -- he is not much of a meat eater, never has been, and eats tons of fruit, but he still loves macaroni and cheese and ice cream. I just started raw myself last month, beginning of April, so right now I'm just trying to be an example without forcing anything on him -- he already eats relatively well for a SAD eater, and his weight is just fine, so everything in its own time.
My husband is also trying alot of what I've been eating, and enjoying it, so I figure we will all get there eventually!
It would be great to get together sometime! How old are your kids?

Your 9 yr. old sounds like my 11 year old! Those are his two favorite foods - we don't eat them at home, but he heads straight for them at buffets. We've been cooked vegan for 17 years. We've strived for 50% raw for several years now, but I've just recently come to realize the healing power of foods. Therefore, we are eating more raw all the time. I'm 99% raw vegan. My husband eats mostly raw, namely fruits & veggies. My children are eating more fruits & veggies all the time. I have 6 children - 4 remaining at home. A boy aged 16, boy aged 15, girl aged 13, and boy aged 11. My 15 year old is more into raw foods than the others. Has fun making & dehydrating foods - but leaves me to eat them if they don't strike his fancy. My kids all cook, but he informed his sister the other day that he was the 'live' chef and she could be the 'dead' chef. What a crack-up! I, too, would love to get together someday. What fun!
