Hi, My name is Amy. I am 33 living in Austin, TX. I started a raw diet last week because I had a two week long ear infection that I couldn't kick and didn't want to get on antibiotics. A friend told me to eat raw for a few days to get rid of it. Well, that did it. Ear infection was completely gone in two days and my energy level was shocking. Lots of wonderful changes have happened since I started last week and my goal is to make this a life long change. It's very exciting.

So glad I found this site. :)

That is great! Glad you're feeling better (oh, when I think of all the earaches I had as a child!) and welcome!

akh7879,

I am so glad you found raw foods. I also seemed to have cured many lifelong problems including depression, constipation, learning, concentration, focusing, compulsive eating, and lack of energy. Raw foods is for life for me.

You will also be preventing a huge increase in the chances of diseases, illnesses and cancers by eating raw.

Good luck,

Hope to see you around RFT

Hi Amy,

I live in Austin too. Have you checked out the raw foods bar at Whole Foods on Lamar/6th?

Thanks guys. I am sorry I didn't respond earlier. I was just learning the site and forgot I started this thread.

Glad to hear there are a couple here in Austin. Even though I have only been doing this 2 weeks, I beginning to feel like a raw island.

Yes, I did see the raw food bar at Whole Foods. Very cool. I ate one of their raw burgers, but it made me feel kind of ill afterwards. Don't know if I can stomach that again.

I am going to try and stay fairly simple with the food for a while. I don't have a dehydrator or processor yet.

Thanks for writing!

Amy
