I rarely sleep at night. Generally I fall asleep fine but then I wake up 2 hours later and go right for the fridge. I always end up eating a tablespoon of something. Generally it is the left over food from the night before. I have changed my diet significantly the last 8 months: more salads, veggies etc... I am still cooking however, yet doing all the research on going raw.

This has been going on for about 15 years. It is not the food that bothers me because I do not take in large amounts but eating even a tablespoon of chicken soup or cooked veggies makes me feel awful in the morning.

I have journaled, reflected, talked about it in therapy yet it still happens. I am beginning to wonder if it is my diet, hence my research on wanting to raw, at least about 80%...

Has anyone had this experience? Your words are welcome

Are you eating anything really sweet before going to sleep? Even just fruit? I know the same thing happens to me if I eat sweet stuff before bed, I wake up in shorty after with low blood sugar levels and want to eat. I'm surprised that just a tablespoon of food makes you not feel good in the AM. Plus, are you eating enough during the day? Maybe if you try eating more in the day you might not be hungry at night too. If this happens again, maybe plan to have something on hand that would be easily digestible for you so it goes through your system quickly and doesn't affect your morning that much.

before I went 100% raw, even as a total vegan, I would wake up several times at night, once I went 100% raw, I don't wake up anymore, you may think to simply lock your fridge door, with a key that is hard to find, or get to, like put it out in your car, or in the garage, then it would be a really big hassle to get the fridge open.

then when and if you wake up, journal, write down what you are thinking, for what purpose do you think you are getting up, don't try to analyze it, just write down anything that comes into your mind, I'd start there.
