does anyone know if fresh fennel bulb/stalks can be used in green smoothies? i am refering to whether or not it would combine well -- i'm thinking that it may be considered similar to celery as far as food combining with the fruit. what say you?
many blessings to all!

For some reason Celery is classified as a green and so it can be combined with anything. I do not know what Fennel is classed as.

Hi,
I have used fennel frequently in my smoothies. It is really good. I use it in the "Energy Soup" smoothie that is from Ann Wigmore. It has a red apple, a banana, a half of an avocado, etc. I adapt it to my liking, using pineapple juice as the base most of the time. Fennel really seems to go well with that. I also put in parsley and cilantro and lots of greens (like spinach) and the flavors really seem to blend. It is really refreshing.
