Thanks for posting this! I was wondering the same thing but haven't posted it yet.

well, after they have been sprouted the do not feel heavy like nuts, and they feel actually lighter when you 'crunch' them. Have you noticed that? As long as you sprout them, I think they are ok on the digestive system. I only let the seeds to separate in the sprouting process but don't let them to get little tails or anything.

Depends on the seeds, depends on the nuts... but overall, yes. Both seeds and nuts are high in fat and protein, which are harder on the digestive system than carbs.

nuts are seeds, but if you mean what we call nuts like almonds walnuts, macs, etc, versus what we call seeds, sunflower, pepinos, etc, then I think that seeds may be a little lighter on the digestive system, but only if you soak them.

Also, please realize that you wouldn't normally find too many nuts OR seeds in any form in nature, so please realize that you would normally only have about 1/2 cup of any of them because of the difficulty in harvesting them.

I don't just sit down and eat nuts any more, I always eat them in recipes, or milks, or a mousse or something, that way I don't get too many at any one time.

I find the longer I am raw the less I desire to eat nuts. I only eat sprouted pumpkins seeds & almonds.

I had a bout of tummy/digestive issues last week, got over it, ate a recipe of dried fruit w/ nuts (carob fudge balls) and I got the same response, feeling bloated full tummy for the rest of the day, so I am thinking I may need to eat mono nuts, not even in recipes !

Both nuts and seeds are difficult to digest. It seems that they are easier to digest when you soak them overnight before eating them. If you want them crunchy, you can then put them in the dehydrator. I try to go really easy on seeds and nuts though and I take lots of digestive enzymes when I do eat them, because they are really heavy on my digestion.

I feel the same way, I remember when I start eating raw a year ago, I was eating so many nuts and seeds! That's when I found out my tummy doesn['t know how to handle cashews.

I am like a bunch of you, I rather eat them in recipes and sauces.

Well that may explain why I'm not very hungry this morning. Yesterday I had about 3/4 of a cup of a chocolate - banana - apple - walnut snack thing I made. I ate it around 4pm. And I have not been hungry since then just some water only.
