Hello all. I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Holly, I'm 29, & I live in Mississippi. I am married to a wonderful man & we have 5 cats & 2 dogs. I've been in school for the past 5 years, so we haven't started on our own children yet. I currently work as a psychiatric nurse & I love my job. I have been researching the raw lifestyle & have been eating about 75-90% raw for about 6 weeks. Everything else has been vegan, but I'm trying to dedicate myself to 100%. I found this site today & thought it would be great to join to see what other people are going through. I want to gain my health & vitality & wash away all the toxic sludge & chemicals my body is full of. I look forward to the support & knowledge of everyone here. Thanks! :)

Hi Holly and welcome! I am relatively new to the board and have been 100% raw since Easter. I am also a nurse...working the ER. Enjoy your journey into raw!

Hi and welcome. I'm new to the board and I'd like to be all raw too. I did it for a year and a half then kind of got off track for a while. I think the off time helped me to be able to understand where I made mistakes the first time and now I know how to do things better and I got rid of some of my misconceptions about the raw diet.

Dear Holly,

I highly recommend Alissa's Book and DVD if you don't already have them. It is also very helpful to attend a Raw Chef Certification class. I have been 100% raw since April 1.

Welcome to the Board and also to the Lifestyle!

Raw Blessings,
Julie

I ordered the book & DVD set 2 days ago - I can't wait for them to get here! I've read some books, but I'm really looking forward to this set because I've read so much good stuff about Alissa & I am really excited about the DVD. Once I am able to read this book & watch the DVD to get more ideas on how all of this works, I believe I'll be ready to commit to reach my goal of 100%. Then I'll do the 30 day challenge, which I look forward to doing. :)

welcome to the boards, this board helped me through the same transition you are going through. It only lasted a week!!! From 75% raw to 100%. You'll find so much support is unbelievable! :D

Hi Everyone!!
I'm new to the board too. I, too, was 100% raw for about 4 months and fell off the wagon at Christmas. It's almost harder to get back on because you want to be back at the place you left off, feeling great and looking great. But I know, now, that this is completely right for me, and I know how much I've missed it.

I'm so EXCITED! My book & DVD just arrived at my door!!! I was not expecting them so fast, but that is really some GREAT service. I'll have to wait to watch the DVD, but I'm taking my book to work tonight. Hopefully we'll have a somewhat slow night & I'll be able to read a little. This book is massive. All the other books I've read have been small & short. I was not expecting how nice these products were going to be. Thanks for all the insight. Looks like I'll be jumping into my 30 days sooner than I thought!

Dear Hollymac-

You won't regret the choice you have made to go raw. The 30 day challenge went very quickly for me. Hope you had a chance to read a bunch last night.

In the words of the Nike commercial--just do it!

I tried to come up with all kinds of excuses not to go raw and with each one a solution presented itself quickly. Just make the commitment and do it.

Raw Blessings,
Julie
