I am craving nuts and high fat foods, but when I eat a lot of them, I find myself feeling tired and sluggish and my face breaks out more. I have been craving pate' and dips for my veggies, I just can't seem to eat my veggies without dipping. Are there any pate' or dip recipes that don't use alot of nuts?

I also remember hearing somewhere that when you crave fats, your body is lacking something. I can't remember where I read that, so if anyone knows, please post a reply.

I love this board and I am amazed by the recipes. I wish that my raw creations looked like some of the pictures I have seen on this board. I think some of you should definitely open raw restaurants! :)

For my own body, when eating nuts I have learned this:
1. If I eat nut-based meals, I won't lose weight.
2. The more nuts I eat, the more I crave nuts.
3. The more I eat nuts, the more t-i-r-e-d I feel.
4. My skin doesn't "Glow" like it does on all fruits & veggies.
5. When I eat nuts, my tummy is soooooooo bloated.

So, why do I eat nuts? See #2.

I have decided to do a short fast as soon as the school year is over. I am terribly stressed right now. Somedays my 5th graders have me running home to my teriyaki almonds!!!!

I agree, it would be nice to find a recipe that isn't nut-based.

How about guacamole? Even though it is fatty, it is from a fresh source whereas nuts have been sitting around for who-knows-how-long on the shelf before they are purchased. It may be the lack of water in them that is making you more tired.

You can also try the zuchinni based hummus recipes out there.

This is being discussed on another thread and it was suggested that avocados are so much better and so much safer than nuts so if you increase the avos then maybe you will be able to let go a little of the need for nuts.

I don't have any fresh tomatoes, only dried, so I guess I can't make salsa.

I've got to look through Alyssa's book and try something with avo in it. Sometimes I get so excited to try one of her recipes and it doesn't taste as good as it sounds. What's a recipe that tastes good too?

I do have a zucchini in the fridge, so maybe I'll make the hummus and wait until I find a good avocado recipe. Are seeds as heavy as nuts on the digestive system?

Sorry for all of the questions, I hope you don't mind.
