i bought some today at the farmers markets opened it up and it was very hard do they ripen? do they get sweeter and softer? thanks

Yes, they get soft and sooooo delicious! They will usually change to a darker color when they are ready to eat. They are my favorite special treat since they are kind of expensive...but it's like 5 tropical flavors all in one fruit! Yum!

just leave it on your kitchen counter and it will ripen. It will not ripen in the refrigerator. Trust me. I speak from experience and trying to eat one rock hard. :o
But give it a few days and it will ripen....kind of like an avocado does.
