My Husband and I are trying for a 2nd child. I just got into raw not 2 days ago. Will the detox effects from going raw effect the baby when I do get pregnant?

I think your baby will be fine. I have a hard time believing that toxins would enter the babie's (separate) blood stream from the mothers' blood stream. It is a separate person with a separate environment in there.

I say absolutely go for it! This has been my easiest and best pregnancy ever! I feel alive and awake, strong and healthy. No pain, heartburn. I have been running three times a week, about three miles at a time. I am at 21 weeks now. Past pregnancies I had to quit exercising altogether due to so much pain and contractions by now.

I read in Living Nutrition Magazine that durring the first few months of pregnancy the body detoxes automatically to prepare the right environment for the growing child. That is why we have morning sickness. I think what you are doing is perfect. I actually discovered the raw food lifestyle when I was sick & pregnant & went 100% raw on the spot because it made sence to me. I felt fantastic & was no longer ill. I had a ton of energy & was very happy.

If you're worried about it, why not go raw for a month or so before trying to get pregnant? You'll get a lot of detoxing done in that amount of time, especially if you try doing a water/juice fast for part of it.

I'm definantly going to stick to it. I started the MC today and will continue doing raw after. I just got my freaking period yesterday so I won't be worrying about the MC causing neg. effects. Oh well... no hurry I guess. Maybe next time!!!! Thanks for all the input

GO for it

The bloodstream and placenta barrieer are a pretty good protector

Imagine all the folks who unknowingly become pregnant while eating SAD, drinking and smoking, only to have to find out 6-8 weeks into pregnancy that it's time to clean up their act.

Again GO FOR IT!!!

The emotional environment is just as important, and at least your psyche is prepared since this will obviously be a planned and desired pregnancy.
Congrats on the desire to conceive....

kudos to you and your!
