It seems that I am doing well, i am not 100% raw but almost there. I only eat fish twice or three times a week just because I don't want to get the b-12 (too expensive). Sometimes I would eat some cheese but rarely, maybe twice a week just a little cheese.

I have a question though. Should I start my journal? I am not doing 100% raw though but I am doing very well and miracously, I don't crave cooked foods. Before I restarted raw, I had a horrible case of toxication with some cooked foods and honestly I am very careful with this and don't even want to eat outside (THANK GOD) and I rather eat raw since raw is actually tastier than cooked (no wonder! lol) First I didn't mind eating some rice now and then, but honestly I decided to cut it and just do essene breads or ezekiel which are better than other breads or tortillas out there. So what? am I eating a 90% raw like this? how do you call your percentages? I love cooking though, not for the fact that I like to EAT the food but the cooking part. Also my daughter is been reluctant to eat raw lately, i can only get her to eat her veggies on soups and on some lasagna made with gluten and wheat free pasta. But she only eats a small portion of this a day, the rest are just fruits and a raw pizza which she loves. oh and she is sleeping better too! haha! I am just having problems for her to try new things, my hubby told me that she will come around, to just wait and no pressure her to try new foods, oh well. *sighs*

Detox: I only feel a bit tired in the mornings before getting up and I been considering to go back and exercise, that might help I think. My skin itches sometimes, my nails are getting harder, and I have more energy in the afternoons to handle my girls. I am also sleeping better :D

It's been a week since I restarted and so far so good! :)

Absolutely! It's a great motivating and educational tool, for you and other people who read it.

I've found my journal to be a big help in getting and staying raw. It's great to look back on your progress, and it's helpful to see how and when you slip-up (whatever that means for you).

One thing to consider is that a bottle of B-12 is going to cost far less than your fish and cheese 3x a week. I can imagine buying that amount of fish and cheese for you and your family will be about $20-30 a week at least, a bottle of supps is about $10 and lasts many weeks. Also depending on the type of fish, what with mercury and all, it could actually be a health detriment.

Another is that if you aren't deficient now, you don't need to worry about becoming deficient in the near future. It usually takes years of unhealthy eating & lifestyle to get you there. It is very likely with the proper lifestyle you may never be deficient. Especially if you've been eating fish regularly, you probably have plenty of B-12 for your body to maintain for quite a while.

Robertanddenith,

You can get a bottle of 1000 mcg ( plenty for a day) sublingual methylcobalamin tablets (100 tablets) for 7.50 per bottle. The shipping is 6.99 for 3 bottles. That comes out to 3 months and ten days worth of B-12 for $9.83. That comes out to about 10¢ per day or 70¢ per week or $3.00 per month. Plus you dont get the mercury, hydrogenated oils from cooking, AGE's (cancer causing toxins from browned or charred flesh, or the wear and tear on your body from having to break down the proteins into amino acids. Plus, you are not supporting one of the industries that excretes some of the highest amounts of pollution from fishing boats and processing plants and last but not least you will be completely animal friendly.

Now, that's a good thing.

Wow, Karen! Where do I order the sublingual methylcobalamin? :) . I've been raw for over 6 months, and haven't taken a B-12 supplement. I've read one of the other posts, where you've outlined your experiences and I feel I need to start taking one.

thanks so much for the input!!!

I am so scared I guess... but this is very helpful! I actually spent only about 20$ a month worth it on fish. We eat VERY LITTLE! LOL My husband won't touch it though, he hates fish. So he is basically eating no meat at all. I do because of the breastfeeding thing. I wanted to get enough b-12 in my body. But yeah, you are right I can live without it! My daughter loved the sublingual one with strawberry flavor, so I guess we can skip the meats hehe!

now... to get her eat her veggies raw.... that's another story...

thanks so much Karen and Sharon!

thanks swingbolder, will start my journal today!
