I just wanted to say a big hello! to everyone and introduce myself.
My name is Xzarina & I live in Brisbane, Australia. I first discovered 'raw food' when I was 15, but apart from the internet haven't been able to get hold of much information. (We seem to only just be catching on down here)
Anyhow...so 3 and a half years later I'm finally making a move thanks to this site. Its great to find so many enthusiastic and lovely people in one place.
Im still not exactly sure what Im doing, so if anyone has any info on how to go about changing to raw, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
Welcome Xzarina, good for you in wanting to journey down the raw path.
It started as a small interest for me too, jump right in and give it a go. Try out recipes and enjoy the journey, I've come across some delicious recipe's if I didn't know any better I'd be sure it came from a syrupy cake shop, these nice things helped me not to feel deprived at first, and help me now through any rough patches.

Welcome to another Aussie. I'm quite a newbie (you're a veteran at 3 yrs!) BTW, there is an Aussie Raw forum www.raw-pleasure.com, but it's not as active as this one, I guess there just aren't as many people in Oz...let alone Raw.
Someone mentioned doing Raw one meal at a time eg. start by Raw bkfst (easy, just fruit and maybe a smoothie) then lunch (not too hard, a salad & more fruit) then dinner...seems to be my stubbling block atm.
Good luck & keep us posted on how you go

Welcome Xzarina. Good to see you here. You have taken the first step in your Raw journey by seeking others out. There are lots of Internet groups but I think ours is one of the best and friendliest. The first thing I started to do is buy and read as many Raw Food books as I could. Alissa Cohen's book 'Living on Live Food' is a great one. Also, If you follow the daily entries in the '30 day raw challenge' section you can see what other people are eating on a daily basis. I know that helped me get started. Good luck on your journey and remember, if you have any questions. Just ask! ;)

Welcome! I read as much as I could find on raw before jumping right in. Mostly books and websites. Best of luck to you!
