I'm starting the MC tomorrow... can't wait! As I said in a previous post- I've eaten cooked food for 3 days, and feel horrible! I went for about 56 days 100% raw... and all it took for me to crumble was one little bite. I feel centered right now though, and even bought some special treats for myself from a local (an expensive- eek!) vegan & raw food bakery tonight. But tomorrow I begin the MC! I would be SOOO happy if someone else was up for it tomorrow too. If not, hope you all don't mind a little " I WANT SOME FOOD" venting now & then. Cooking for my 3 year old will be torture! - especially watching him down raw chocolate pudding. AHHHHHH!!!!!

Today I am starting Day 7 of my Master Cleanse. Surprisingly, it is going very well. I say this because I've previously struggled with my juice fasts and those were only 2 days! :( I think the reason the Master Cleanse is easier for me is because of the Maple Syrup. Supposedly, it is highly dense in several minerals and this I think is where I am getting my energy from. Keep in mind, raw foodists, that maple syrup is NOT raw. I am not too concerned about the Maple Syrup not being raw, because I think this cleanse serves a great purpose and it's working for me and I think it will be an excellent jump start to my 100% raw eating.
Good Luck! :)

I meant to say that today I am ON day 7, in case I was confusing in my first sentence. ;)

I'm starting the MC tomorrow. I have everything I need and am very excited. I've been going strong with all raw until a couple of days ago. I have to think about what has changed. I'm eager to do some detoxing. I did a 3 week OJ cleanse a couple of years ago and felt wonderful. My son is still nursing once in the middle of the night but it is soley for comfort so I'm going to try to soothe him without nursing. Wish me luck! How are you doing with your detoxing?

I'm starting a MC tomorrow. I happy about it. Had great results from the first one I did, great detox, looked fabulous and lost 21 lbs in as many days.
I've been eating cooked and want to breakt the pattern, give my body a rest, detox and drop some more weight. I kept off 18 of those lbs I lost the first time.
I am planning to go longer this time, perhaps 30 days. Once I got past the first few days it was amazingly easy and wonderful!
Glad we've got a thread going. Anyone else starting?

Hi,
I know what you mean by "one little bite - and you're off!". I did the cleanse last July and stayed raw for about 3 1/2 months. Then when the weather got colder I started eating soup, coffee, popcorn... then the holidays came and I went beserk! I even started eating fish and dairy again.. It really creeps back in.
So I started today.
Best of luck to you!!

yes, I am starting tomorrow, June 1st, as well! I am going as long as I can...
I am looking at it in 10 day increments, though....
And then I have some friends joining me on June 5th...
Woo hoo!!

I hope you all did really well on the MC! I made it 3 days, then a friend came by & suprised me with a raw chocolate cake. She isn't raw herself, had no idea I was fasting, and I was so touched by her random support. I thought- I'll just keep going tomorrow... didn't happen. So, I've given myself some time, I'm over it, and now I'm starting again. So... here it goes. I'm letting the world know what I'm doing, and if anything else comes my way, I know that I won't be able to "start again"... no breaking the fast! Wish me luck! I hope you all had TONS of luck!!!!!

I've heard about Master Cleanse, what's it like? Can you go to work during it? Do you feel weak, tired, light headed? Are you constantly in the bathroom?
i think I have seen recipes for it on the internet.
Where would you get Grade B maple syrup?
Thanks!

Hey Ellen,
I started my first MC yesterday. It is going very well so far. Yesterday was hard not to eat, but then I"m always dealing with 'it's hard not to eat' issues so it wasn't a big surprise. Today is pretty easy. I did have one long talk with the commode while at work, but I'm not feeling weak or light headed at all. Actually other than the anoying intestinal cramps (Smooth Moves does work rather well!) I'm in a great mood and feeling very good!
Hope that helps!

P.S. You can get the syrup online or I got mine at Whole Foods. I had no luck at all at Walmart, they didn't even have real syrup!

I want to do the mc before Sept, and I am just curious of how the cleanse affects your activities daily.
Is it a mild cleanse, or are you at the John all day??
Did anyone do the salt flush in the evening instead of in the morning?? I think that will work better for me, and taking the lax tea 2x a day.
Do you have to do the full 10 days or can you do a long weekend, ex. Friday, Sat, Sun, etc.??
Did you get stomach cramping??
I am just curious mostly because I want to know if I will still be able to function and work and do the cleanse at the same time.
Any input greatly appreciated.

I have been MC for a few years and absolutely love it ! Personally I have no isssues with functioning while fasting, I have fasted up to 30 days with no side effects. :D
Work has actually been enhanced - my mental acuity is higher, and my body feels actually more energized. Probably due to the toxins being released and disposed of.
Any length is better then no fast, try it over the weekend and if you make it to monday - decide then wether to keep on going or not. My experience has been I am still purging my colon of recent meals the first 3 days, then from like day 5 on I feel the toxins released and the beginning of the detox process. Never have I felt hungry, I drink the lemonade frequently through out the day and the tea at night. Never tried the salt flush - never really needed to, I go pretty regularly. Its amazing to me to still be going number 2 after 20+ days - hard to imagine that much waste stuck inside of your body.
Good luck and let us know how it goes :D

I did a 25 day MC last year. It was hard for the first 3 days for me. After that I did not crave food to eat, but I became a human vacuum. I would sniff everything in site to savor the smell. It was rather satisfiying. I had very few detox episodes. My only problem withthe whole thing was stopping. I really dreaded going back to eating. Fasting is easy for me. No choices to make about what to eat. You just don't eat. Eating presents a whole other problem. With eating, you get hungry. With hunger comes cravings and for me that meant pizza, ice cream, steak, pasta, etc... When I fasted I wasn't hungry. So I very rarely got any cravings. Be strong and you will suceed. The beginning is the hardest for most people. It was very, very hard for me to start eating again.

I have done the MC many times. Every 4 months for the past 2 years. I have a journal if anyone is interested. flseasidedaisy@yahoo.com
Has anyone ever added clay and fiber 4x a day to the MC. I found this works great.

I did a small 3 day master cleanse last week and was so suprise that I was not hungry at all. I didn't have grade b syrup but it still went well. I even did a few days of drinking the lemonade all day and then just having a light meal at night. I actually like the taste of the lemonade. I make about 96oz so that I don't run out in the middle of the day and get to lazy to make more. Next month I plan on doing a full MC. Starting with just the 14 days and if I feel like going on doing the full 30.

Hello Jaishree, I am starting the MC tomorrow, 8/21- and hope to last a minimum of 10 days and then do the 30 day challenge in Sept. I may go longer than 10 days...who knows-I will have to wait and see.
I just finished my laxative tea, don't care for the licorice tea, and I have to find my MC book, so I won't be lost. I have to get the recipe for the drink out of my book. (I read so many books at one time, I never know where they are sometimes).
So... How are YOU making out? Hope you are doing well with the cleanse.
I am trying to get my mom and sis to do it too.
Good luck,
Adrian :D

So... Of all the reading I have done about fasing and MC'ing, I need a little help summarizing all the information before I jump into it. I am very eager to start my first fast. Anyways, all the information has taught me (Please correct me if any of this is incorrect):
Any amount of fasting is good, but the longer the better
I can either drink only water or a form of fasing juice or green lemonade
When I feel as though I have fasted long enough, I can jump on the raw food eating wagon
When I a good judge of a "long enough" fast?
What is the salt flush?
I appreciate any guidance. I want to get started!!

Is there anything I need to be aware of? I work 2 jobs, not stressful, but I jsut want to be prepared...
Thanks....
