I know coffee isnt good for you and tea is debatable. So say you were going to be all raw and make a coffee exception. IS there any form of raw coffee or coffee bean that is better for you than what they sell in the can at the store so you can make your own? and for the flavored creamer...that stuff is probably horrible for you since its nothing but diff kinds of processd sugar. So i was thinking to make a raw version of that. say hazlenut and vanilla...I didnt know if any type of nut milk would be naturally sweet enough so im thinking about adding honey or agave and see how that tastes with the nutmilk as a substitue for the store bought creamer. and for vanilla im thinking vanilla bean and maybe nutmilk. what are your opinions and sugestions on this? Every now and then i enjoy a coffee and cigarette and im not a regular drinker or smoker so i was thinking maybe growing my own tobacco i think this would be better even though i should not drinkor smoke at all. Does the majority think green tea is the best kind of tea for you or is there another one standing close in the line up? Does anyone know what kind of extra crap they add to store bought coffe or tea?

I think this thread may give you some good ideas: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12707&page=2
There's also a product called "Teeccino" that is a caffeine-free, herbal "coffee" that has no coffee beans. We had an out-of-town guest who was a coffee drinker visit us and my husband bought some from the co-op. Here are the ingredients:
Roasted carob, barley, chicory root, figs, almonds, dates and natural hazelnut flavor (he bought the Hazelnut flavor of this product thought I think there are others).
This product isn't raw, but it is natural and I've seen many here on this forum use Teeccino to help them wean off of coffee.
Our friend didn't even realize it wasn't "real" coffee and said it was good.

I was thinking of teccino to but just to let you know, it is roasted just like coffee so you are basically drinking carinogens with either one. I personally have had teccino and like it better than coffee. It tastes like hazelnut flavored coffee but not bitter. I don't drink either because my RVD has already made me feel guilty enough. He said the only thing you should be using your coffee grinder for is to grind nuts.

I think the easiest way to give up coffee is go 1/2 reg 1/2 decaf, then when you can handle that go 3/4 reg 1/4 decaf, then down some more
when you get to where you can handle it, start adding more water, less coffee, until it is pretty week, then you can start cutting down on the cream using 1/2 cream 1/2 almond milk, pretty soon it will be very week decaf coffee with all almond milk then you can start cutting out the coffee, until all you are drinking is the almond milk.
if you do it this way, you won't have terrible headaches and you will be off coffee for good, any other way it is too easy to go back to coffee,
the caffeine and the cream are highly addictive, also the sugar, it will take a while to get off of these, but you can do it.

I did 1 cup/day of green tea for a week then switched to hot lemon and ginger water. There is also roasted chicory root, Maybe you can try coconut milk as a creamer.
