Ickk today I've had (especially right now) that major mental fog feeling coming back. Everything got so much, clearer and I wasn't in like a daze any more soon after going raw. But today it like came back? Could this be a deficiency in something? or...I just feel horrible. I know this is what I felt like before going raw, but now to feel like this again...UGH. I was playing soccer with my brother...and still doing pretty good...but it was like my brain didn't process what I was seeing quickly enough...my body moved a little after my body told it to instead of right away. Ah its kind of scarey. I mean what's going on? sorry if I'm a bit annoying I just want to know if there's something I can do.
Thank you so much :)

That used to happen to me all the time. B-Right by Jarrow fixed it right up. (B-12 methylcobalamin and other vitamins)

Hey Lunar,

Did this happen after you ate that vomit tasting stuff you had? You could have accidently eatin cooked...maybe you can't take foods that are so much dehydrated?? Thats the one reason I can think of why you were craving egg all of a sudden and you are foggy brained...hmm. When i eat something cooked I have cravings for stuff i dont even want or didn't even like before and then i get foggy too...(i almost said f-R-oggy! Lol.) ;)

Karenisraw, I thought of you actually, and even said to my brother...I think I need some B vitamins..lol

EmeraldGlow, you could defiantely be right. It seems I do much better simply eating the whole food in its natural state. I hate to admit that because I really want to try all these yummy looking recipes. I'll still try them though, because if I don't I'll never know. But I think you could be right, I felt a little weird and sick like after eating the toaster tart things as well only not this bad at all (but those were yummy). haha froggy, :D I laughed out loud at that one lol. But yeah I think you could be right

B-vitamins (rejuvelac being one option), high quality protein (organic dark green leafies, wheatgrass juice, bean sprouts etc.) and lecithin (eggs if you're not vegan, if you are vegan, sunflower sprouts are one of many sources) are all supportive of good brain functioning.

thanks arky and karenisraw. I am vegan so I don't eat eggs. I do eat spinach (although I can't get organic :( ) almost every day, and a lot of it. i often make a green smoothie too. For some reason I can't stomach bean sprouts...I loved beans cooked but I get sick when I eat bean or lentil sprouts, I don't know why....my stomach is roiling just thinking about it. I don't have wheat grass...can oyu grow it from wheat berries?

hey luner ,same thing just happened to me last week after 4 months 100%raw and feeling great. I heard I could help my periferal neuropathy with mega doses of b12 methylcobalmin. After 4 days, wam, big time brain fog and my neuropathy came screaming back! The brain fog is the worst, mental clarity was awsome before and I miss it alot. I just started a juice fast yesterday hoping to get back to the way I was. I' m so mad at myself for playing around with very high doses of b12. I'll let you know if the fast helps.

Hi Lunar,

Stay away from the eggs as I'm sure you will being vegan! Before being diagnosed with my food allergies, I craved eggs constantly for a couple days straight. Once I was tested for food allergies, eggs were my highest food allergy. My naturopath said that we crave things we're allergic to at times. The reaction I would get from eating eggs was a really bloated feeling and stomach pain--couldn't digest them.

Regarding the brain fog, I too dealt with this and still sometimes get it. What really helps me is some green juice. I normally juice 1-2 carrots with 1-2 leaves of kale or other dark leafy green and 1 stalk of celery or some cabbage. Try that, and I think it will help you think more clearly!

Thanks Mikey. I'd like to know how your fast goes. I don't think I can really do a fast right now since my weight is monitered once a week. once my weight gets up a bit maybe I can. Yeah, brain fog is the worst!

Veggie,
Thanks for the juice recipes. I don't have a juicer but I usually make a green smoothie at least once a day.
Funny, I used to get really bloated with stomach pains and such after eating eggs. But I would get that with a LOT of things...so I just thought it was normal. Everyone around me said it was only because I ruined my digestive system being anorexic. But yeah, no way was I thinking of actually eating any eggs lol.

Mikey,

Sorry to hear about the brain fog. I am the person that posted about the high doses of B-12. For me it REALLY REALLY helped big time. The first time I took Ceralin however, (brain formulation) I had a couple of odd days but I definately have benefited big time. It's been a couple of weeks on high doses of methylcobalamin and I don't have quite as high a desire for as high a doses as before so I am at about 3-4000 mcgs right now. Still a little repair going on but not nearly what it was the first week or so. Hopefully you benefited even though you felt out of it for a while.

Hmm, curious...have you been 100% raw? It seems like you're doing your best but still incoroporating some cooked? Maybe I'm mistaken, but if that's the case then maybe the little bit of cooked is causing the brain fog and cravings? OR..when was the last time you ever had an egg? Detox goes YEARS back and you crave what you're detoxing as it enters your bloodstream agian. Hah, once I started craving donuts and I have only had it literally once in my life 10+ years ago.

Dreamrawalwz,
I am not incorporating any cooked right now. I'm 100% raw as far as I know (besides the organic part :( ). I mean I am not totally positive that my raisins and dates are raw. but otherwise I'm 100%. I did have to go to the bathroom a lot today and I was craving oranges and celery, maybe my system was sort of flushing out? lol idk. The last time I had an egg actually wasn't too long ago, maybe not too much over a month ago (yeah I was vegan but desperate to prove to my mom that I was ok, I think I need to stop always trying to be such a people pleaser. )

Checking back over this thread, something has just occurred to me, Lunar*Fey - have you checked the possiblity of candida or of fermentation of dried fruit etc in the gut? You may be suffering from drowsiness on account of either or both of these (fermentation can lead to the production of alcohol which is just one possible contributor to a general feeling of drowsiness, particularly after eating, and particularly after eating sugar-rich foods such as fruit <esp. dried fruit>).

In short, while it is obviously prudent to ensure good brain nutrition, it might also be well worth checking for candida or general fermentation issues. Do you find you get more drowsy after eating?

sometimes I have a kind of fuzzy feeling, and I really have to look at what I'm NOT eating, not what I am eating.

usually it is because I haven't had enough fruit that day, and when I do eat fruit, then I feel great.

I used to struggle with brain fog on a regular basis. Then when I went Raw it reduced to minimal, almost none. The few times I have had it since RAW I ate fruit (usually Apple) and it would go.

All the years I struggled with brain fog I ate a predominate Protein diet and NEVER ate sweet fruit, just things like cucumber, lemons and grapefruit! I thought fruit bad ...if I had known then what I do now !!

Arky,
As far as I know I have never been checked for candida or fermentation of fruit in the gut. How would I check these things? I have some sort of feeling that it was from not getting enough essential fatty acids or something, but then I wouldn't really know. I do sometimes feel sort of drowsy/foggy after eating....but not after eating greens....

Rawpriestess,
I had had a lot of fruit so far that day...and when I say a lot I mean a lot (I would have to have a lot in order to eat over 3000 calories a day lol) but maybe it had something to do with that, I'm not sure.

Rawfigure,
thanks for sharing:). I used to wonder and sort of think fruit was not so good to have a lot of because of all the sugar. Now I eat SO much fruit. lol
