veggie shredding

i am in a creative mood and i want to make a green slaw. how would i shred the greens for this? how would i shred veggies period? i always buy the cabbage for cole slaw already shredded.

I just use a box grater for shredding things.

A box grater works well. If you have a food processor ... use the shredding disk. Or you can use a large sharp knife, cut the cabbage in very thin slices, then cross cut them in fine slices again. works fine for coleslaw.
