I was sitting here craving cereal and milk so I decided to see what I had in the cabinets. I've not had cereal with milk on raw.

I threw this in a bowl....dried coconut, chopped walnuts, raisins, flax seeds, soaked sunflower seeds, and honey. Then I made some almond milk and put ice cubes in to make it cold.

This is awesome! It's so dense it will probably keep me satisfied all day.

Raw is so easy!

I just had to share my enthusiasm this morning. :D

If anyone has any other cereal recipes to share, that would be great!

I used to eat chopped banana, apple, pear, dried apricots, figs, prunes, in a bowl with coconut milk poured over and that felt like cereal.

I make something thats exactly like the porridge I ate as a child. However I only liked very very thing runny porridge with lots of honey. I hated thick porridge especially with salt. So this is nothing like that.

Thin Porridge:

Soak 50g flax seeds over night. In the morning blend with dates (sweeten to taste) until smooth. If you like banana porridge (oat porridge blended with banana) then add a banana!
And of course you could use honey instead of dates but I'm strict vegan.

I have sliced bananas, granola, and sweet almond milk pretty much every morning. I like the combination of ingredients you listed ... think I will start adding more things to my bananas. Thanks for the post!

I think these recipes sound wonderful.

One question about the fruit with grains or nut - isn't that problematic? Or is it only problematic if it causes and individual bloating or other problems?

I purchase a raw granola from my health store with sprouted buckwheat, raisins, and a few other things in it and use my nut milk for that. It kills alllll bread cravings for me and my body loves it. ^^ Your way sounds wonderful though.

Veganman, I dont' have any problems with dried fruit and nuts. My body does not prefer fresh fruit with nuts though. This recipe was nut/seed heavy because I didn't have anything sprouting. I think it would be good with sprouted dried buckwheat groats and soft wheat berries. I'm gonna try that this week.

I think fresh bananas would be very good on this combo though. I have to say, the dried coconut was very good in the mixture, it was crispy.

And I actually think you could sweeten this just as well or maybe better with Stevia instead of honey if someone prefers not to eat honey.

I'm wondering about making a chocolate, coffee flavored almond milk recipe. Or a strawberry almond milk drink. ;) May have to do some more experimenting. :)

I have cereal every morning. That was my first raw meal replacement. I've always had cereal every day of my life so I needed to still have it now. I make granola either with almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds mixed with an apple, dates, lemon and cinnamon and dehydrate the mixture. It's so good ! I also made granola from buckwheat groats with dates, lemon juice and anything else you want to throw in there, soak the groats first, mix it all together and dehydrate overnight. And then I make almond or brazil nut milk.

I do something REALLY easy. Sprout and dehydrate buckwheat.....then I add slices of banana, and raisins....with almond milk and some honey!! YUMMY. This is really easy, and is better than any SAD cereal I've eaten!
