(Let me preface this by saying...I'm not always organic...sometimes it doesn't work out...and I am willing to make that compromise for myself. My one goal is to stay raw...when it comes to food. ;) )
Ok...one day a week ago, my family met for lunch at Pizza Hut. This is very hard a raw newbie. However, I found a way around breaking my 100%raw streak. :) I asked if I paid for an all you could eat salad bar and a side of chicken...could the waitress bring me the veggies that they put on a veggie lovers pizza...without the sauce, crust and cheese. She seemed shocked that anyone would want that. But she asked and the manager was only too happy to help. :) I was so excited when the waitress brought me out two huge bowls! They were filled with rows of veggies. Tomatoes, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and black olives. (I didn't eat the black olives...I know to tell her not to put those in next time...) I got a plate of lettuce and topped it with all the veggies. I couldn't finish it all. But they were delicious. I was satisfied...and happy. I stuck with raw...even while dining at a not raw restaurant! So, I wanted to share my success with the rest of you so that it might be easier for those who think they can dine out while eating raw. ;) And also to ask: Does anyone else have helpful hints for dining out that would make it easier for the rest of us???
