Hi Everyone,

My name is Debbie and I am starting the 30 day raw food challenge today. I work full-time, have a family, go to school part-time, am a "soccer mom" and we have a new puppy - whewww!

I've lost 30 lbs. about a year ago with ediets and have kept it off but just haven't been able to get rid of the last 20. I like everything about raw and I just want to DO IT, so I'm jumping in with both feet. I ordered Alissa's book the other day and it can't get here fast enough.

I will take a picture later and learn how to post it. I can't believe I'm starting RAW! I'm excited and scared!

Please let me know how you all started off. I'll be back later to check it, but I have to get ready for soccer now.

Hi Debbie,

Welcome. Today is actually my first day 100% raw, although I've lingered around since February. This is a wonderful community with lots of information, the best moderators (Alissa, RP, SG, Rawkinlocks, RT!) and amazing fellow rawbies.

Bora Deb from ediets!! It's me Emily. There are a bunch of us WIDRTers here now. I am Guppy, Mickie is Mathteacher and Lori is Rawhikerlori. Come check out our blogs.

How exciting that you are jumping into this. Please don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions or need some support.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

It's NOT too early for certification! I've actually already talked to Chrissy about her classes, I'm just trying to find the time and money to attend one.

Emily from ediets! Yes I did finally make the jump this weekend. Sat & Sun were about 75% raw (had a wedding). Not that that is an excuse, I just have so many more questions and I don't have the book yet so unless it's basic fruit or veggies - I am in limbo.

I must go figure how to view others and create my own journal.

Chrissy,

Thanks for the welcome! I'm still trying to get to one of your raw food classes.

Misty,

Thank you so much for the link to ECV! I didn't even know it was there and I go to school in Toms River on Monday's & Wednesday's and was having a hard time finding something for dinner between work & school. I am definitely going to try them out this Wednesday.

There is a wonderful organic vegan restaurant in Red Bank NJ on Broad St. called Down to Earth. Two of the chefs that owned it took my Level 1 class a few weeks ago and they have a small Live Foods menu. I love the atmosphere and especially the little shops to pop into after dinner. We visit there during the Level 2 classes. It's always nice opening a menu and seeing things you could eat.

HI,
I just read your post, I am starting the 30 day raw today too.
I am very excited and scared at the same time. Good luck to you.
My reasons are more because my health problems are constant and I believe this will help clear all of that up. Again , I wish you the best.

Hi Cloria,

I'm doing pretty good and I wish you the best also. It's getting easier each day.

I do want to ask a question: I have had a low grade headache since I've started that won't go away. It's a headache like the ones you get if your not eating enough, but I'm not hungry.

Help?
