Flax Seeds??

How can you tell if flax seeds are raw...for example say you see a bag of them (maybe bob's red mill) at a health food store or something...if they are the whole seed are they raw? Does anyone know?

i'm not sure what others might say, but to my knowledge, i've never seen any non-raw flax seeds, at least not at a health food store.
i have always bought the arrowhead mills organic flax seeds. it doesn't say "raw" on the bag, but i'm pretty sure they are.

thanks Shelah! I hoped they were raw, have you tried sprouting them? And yes the Cinco de Mayo celebration went well...we played mexican games which was really funny to watch. I will try fruit leathers, any certain flavor you like best?
I want to make a dinner for my family, which is quite exciting to me. I want it to be something they'll really like and maybe it will turn them on to raw! My brother is coming over this weekend too I think...I hope I can get the ingredients in time to make it this weekend. I know my mom wont want to do this, but maybe after she tastes the food. She loved when I made the date nut torte (she didn't know it was "RAW" then)...
