Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself, I've been reading the boards for about a month and have been learning about raw and enjoying what I've been reading. So many times I would have liked to reply to different posts but of course I couldn't because I wasn't a member. But I finally got up the courage to register. I'm only probably about 40% raw, partly because I do not know what to make. I think it would help if I had a dehydrator too. But I am learning. And I also don't feel full on just vegetables. I read about how some of you just eat some fruit for breakfast and I wonder how you can keep going on that till lunch. A couple of weeks ago I started making a green smoothie for breakfast which I read about on this forum (and I'm really greatful for that information) It keeps me till about 12 (lunch is at 1 :( )

I think over the last few years I've been slowly getting away from eating meat, I just don't enjoy eating it. But then again, I never enjoyed eating salads either lol. I started looking at ways to change my diet because I had a heart attack last Aug and that's what started me reading about healthy eating and then I found this forum (which is the best) I've been learning so much. For so long I thought because I used whole wheat flour that I was eating healthy, but boy was I wrong lol. I don't want to write a book lol, but just to say hi :) and I am looking forward to be able to talk to all of you.

Well I know that when I first tried to go raw, I got REALLY hungry for the first few days... but then I guess my body adjusted to having less filling food and I was more satisfied with less food.

Hi Spectatrix, thanks for replying. I think that's what would happen to me too--my body would get used to it. But even just increasing the raw food in my diet has had good effects already. I have lost about 8 lbs which I really did need to learn. I think I have more energy too. I still crave cigs (I had to stop smoking after my heart attack) and I'm trying to stay away from sweets, I crave sugar and salt (potato chips lol).
