What's wrong with me???? I'm breaking out in hives again, the second time in two weeks. Last time was from mangoes...this time I don't know what. The only thing I've had that I can think of his Bok Choy. I had it for the first time about 20 minutes ago. I have NEVER had allergies in my life.
Thankfully it's not as bad this time (elbows, ears, arms, sides of legs, maybe cheeks). Last time I had it EVERYWHERE (including inside my mouth).
Even my knuckles are fiery!

Great. It's moved to the back of my neck.

Is this from my raw food?? (Or is this a punishment for cheating and having chocolate yesterday???)

Ummm...so you had some chocolate yesterday and you're wondering if it's the bok choy (or other raw food) that is giving you this reaction?

I want you to realize something and please hear me good...allergies, while many of us tend to believe wholeheartedly in them, are nothing more than just another attempt by the body to let you know there is something toxic within that is counteracting with something else.

I've told this story here before...not sure if you had seen it or not...but my husband used to get hives when around cats and when he ate strawberries and whenever he wore anything tight-fitting (elastic from socks, undies, etc.)

Once he cleaned up his diet, he was no longer "allergic" to cats or strawberries!

But every once in a while, a hive might pop up on him...this could be from something he ate that wasn't good or the best or it could be just a reaction of cleansing. Like for example, he used to do colon cleansing via enemas. It would seem that after a cleansing, he would have hives all over him, but then after a day they would be gone.

Sometimes our bodies just react and show signs in various ways, on various areas of our bodies.

I know some here might tell you that you "probably have food allergies" and all that...I just personally don't believe in that. Yes, I think we can have reactions to things but nine times out of ten, it's related to some OTHER underlying cause within and not necessarily the food or foods we tend to suspect.

Hope you feel better soon and try to lay off the chocolate!

"Hope you feel better soon and try to lay off the chocolate!"

LOL! I'll TRY.
What a relief 'cause I really liked that Bok Choy stuff. :p

Rawandmama, it is amazing how vigorously body will fight off bad foods once it realizes that there are other, better options out there!

Before raw, I used to drink coffees so as to overcome sleepiness/tiredness and concentrate better at my work. If I have a regular coffee now, I will not sleep at night, and I will experience sleep problems for up to a week, depending on how much I had. I cannot have even the weakest coffee (1 teaspoon). I can't have a tea either for the same reason. Chocolate too, yes, even chocolate will make me sleepless. And I was able to have all those things on daily basis in the past, before raw.

Eating cooked will give me pimples and stinky breath. My husband can tell whether I've had any just by looking at me.

I was able to tell that my daughter Julia was sharing lunches with her cooked friends at school, by noticing the change in her breath (became stinky), face (became swollen) and health (she started coughing).

Our body has great mechanisms to keep us away from bad food choices, doesn't it? :)

Gosia.

Sounds to me like your body is just trying to eliminate that chocalote or something else.

ohhhhh chocolate. *sighs* It really IS amazing how fast my body works through garbage I put in it now. I guess I deserved that.

I'm finding that if I just have one meal on raw my breath stinks, body odor comes back, my vision gets funky, my head hurts, and I get nauseated for the next day or so. Oh yeah, and CRABBY.
