Ok...I'm craving nuts right now...specifically almond butter. The only problem is that I can't digest them very well right now so I'm not eating many nuts. I have added some back into my diet but slowly. I've had some problems but I don't think I should eliminate them altogether. So my question is....what is it in nuts specifically almonds that I might need that I'm craving so badly right now? I've been having a lot of headaches lately. I think they're muscle/tension related but could also be detox too or both. Any ideas why I'm craving nuts or if there's a specific nutrient in them that my body needs/wants right now?

nuts have alot of fat in them, and almonds have laetril, which is in many things besides almonds.

try Pumpkin seeds in place of nuts. They are full of the good things your body seeks. I soak and dehydrate for a crisp taste.

Maybe magnesium? A lack of magnesium can cause muscle tension which in turn can cause headaches.

Ok...I'm craving nuts right now...specifically almond butter. In Green for Life, Victoria Boutenko describes this very craving for nuts, fats, and oils, and attributes it to insufficient leafy green vegetables in the diet.
Ever since Raw Truth recommended this particular book, I've found it to be extraordinarily powerful, addressing maybe half the complaints people voice on this board, and in my own individual case specifically, filling in the holes.
This is so helpful and has made me resolve to have another try with green smoothies because it will certainly be worth it. I've also sent for Victoria Boutenko's book.
Shivananda, I was so pleased to see some posts from you again. I thought you'd left the board. I know that sometimes some people find your views controversial, and I understand that, but I just want you to know that there are also those of us who really appreciate your particular approach. Your posts have certainly helped me on a number of occasions, just as in this particular case. So thanks!
