Hi. I just started researching the raw food diet last week and it seems the right way to go for me. I turned veggie July of 2003 and I've been mostly vegan since May of 2004. I wanted to find recipes for raw veggies since I don't like cooked veggies (yuck!) and dicovered a whole new way of life. Cancer and diabetes runs in my family and I'm hoping it skips me. I also don't want to be 70 years old, barely able to walk and have bags and bags of medications to take. Who wants to spend their golden years poppin pills? NOT me.

There are a few issues I'm hoping a raw diet can help me with. I have suffered with depression and anxiety for most of my life. I've tried several drugs from the doctors and health food stores but nothing works. Not even a little bit. Augggg! So frustrating. I also suffer from headaches, backaches and acne.

I've been reading the boards the last couple of days, and this seems like a great community for support.

Welcome Carl, I like your goals.

Raw food will definately help you with depression, it's a hard task to find a 100% raw foodist that isn't feeling on top of the world. Some sunshine, fresh air and light exercise added to the mix and you wont know yourself.

Welcome - hope you find what you ned in the raw world!

I'm 10 days raw and have had similar issues, plus hypothyroid. I hear that coconut oil/butter is really good for these types of issues. i read about it everywhere. You might try to research that too.
