I am 40 years old and have been on Bio identical Hormones (Progesterone and Armour Thyroid) for over a year and think that RAW could balance my hormones without the need for these.....has anyone else gone off of HRT and relied entirely on RAW? I feel so good at 99.9% RAW and honestly feel that these could be alleviated- for what I pay for the compounding Pharmacy in a few months....I could have my Excaliber!!!!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Have a GREAT and Blessed day!

I just came off of them about 12 days ago. So far I feel much better off of them and I am hopeful that I won't need them anymore. I am sure that my doctor is going to throw a fit, but -you know....

Any mood swings or major issues with your cycle? Did you gradually come off of them? or just stop one day....? I am so concerned.....! I also know that my wellness physician will FLIP`~~* But she tried to also start me on Bi-est LOW dose and 2 days later I was weepy and bloated and now I am on day 11 of my period..!!!!! and have awful skin breakouts. I think it in interfering with the benefits that I should be feeling at 100% RAW....this is my 2nd attempt at 100% and the first time- my skin never looked better and I felt RAWSOME!!!!
I am a fitness and nutrition counselor and know better than to rely on anything like hormones....But, over the past year and experiencing Raw energy and health- it has caused me to pause and think about my health and the other things I put into my body as well as my family! And knowing that there are no progesterone trees and that dessicated pig thyroid is not vegan -haha! I would prefer a more natural supplementation.
Are there any reccomendations out there for natural raw food's that might help with this balance?

I am on day 12 of my period. It is very light today so I am hoping that it will stop today or tommorow. I am suppost to ovalulate on the 8th soooo I really want too stop. I hope I do ovalulate, but I usually don't w/o hormones. But I am hoping and praying! I want a baby! I guess were in a similiar boat. I know there are some natural creams and I have used them in the past, but I have been afraid to use them because some of them have natural estrogen in them and I have hyperplasia with atypia (precancer) and I wouldn't want to encourage the estrogen.
Hi FF,
I used progesterone cream for awhile but it felt all wrong for me and I stopped afer less than a month.
As to thyroid meds, I still take them (my thyroid was irradiated after an autoimmune disease, so some of it is still there but much of it was killed off). I get my levels tested every six months and I've had to lower them twice since I started yoga 6X/week + raw. :D I think/hope that I'll continue to lower meds as I heal. But I would never just stop taking them. I personally don't think such an abrupt action would help my body heal -- slow and gentle seems better to me. :)
Good wishes!

Asil,
Thanks for your reply...I agree- maybe to step down with one Armour thyroid (I take 5 each morning) less each week, which is how I started taking them last year 1 for week 1, 2 for week 2 and so on! So, I think I will try this over the next 6 weeks....Thanks, for helping me see it that way :) Have a GREAT day!
Take Care,
