What about peanut butter? It's not raw is it? Well maybe if it's raw peanut butter... A vegan friend once told me that he doesn't eat peanuts because they have black mold or something unhealthful..hmm was just wondering:)

Peanut butter is generally not raw. Most places at least roast the peanuts if not add all sorts of 'stuff' to the peanut butter. As for the mold issue that would be aspergilious (? spelling, I think I have it right). It can be found in corn and peanuts and some other things.. wheat maybe? It can cause respritory issues, particularly if your imune system is weakened.

I've heard raw peanuts are not good for you. I guess that's why there aren't many raw peanut products. If you haven't tried almond butter yet, give it a try, I like it so much better.

I read in "The Raw Food Detox Diet" by. Natalie Rose. That peanuts cause mucous.

Hmm.. and I have a bag of those at home. I had no idea they didn't have the Aflatoxin problem as it wasn't a concern for me. They are _really_ yummie too. :)

all the toxins aside, if you love PB then if you taste the raw peanut butter (wild peanuts included) you will be sadly disappointed. I am a PB lover, well was, till I tasted a raw wild peanut and raw pb...uh cringe !
