Ok..Misslinda just got me thinking. As you are traveling down the raw path...how have your food choices changed and why?

For me,
My food plan has gotten more simple. I like less salty, dehydrated and complex foods. I think it is just the natural progression of raw foods. Today, I like the occasional fancy meal but more often than not~~ I like simple ripe fruit and salads.

the natural progression of raw foods.

Cosigns with JMD.

Even before I knew raw, I always emotionally and phsycially craved simple foods. Now that I am raw, I am leaning more towards mono eating.

I had a veggie platter yesterdat for dinner and the variations didn't appeal to me.

I was in to the combos of raw spaghetti, sauces, mashed potatoes, marinades, ect. Then suddenly I got sick when I ate those combinations. So then I ate more simple, but still included dried fruits and avocados with salt thrown in there too. May I'm cutting out the dried fruits and fats and salt because I feel sooo much better this way. I'm eating only water-based foods, except for carrots and spinach. So, pretty much fruit only. I'm wanting to go mono, but that'll take time just as this has. Since I'm eating more simple food is becoming boring to me and I'm tending to eat less and less now.

I have another question, did you all come to this mono eating on your own or have you read of this? Are there books that promote this mono eating or just a path you have chosen? Just curious.

I discovered there are a lot of vegetables that I like raw but never liked cooked.

I never liked cooked Kale or any other type of cooked greens. Carrots, Zucchini, Yellow Squash etc...... They just seemed so ... limp and dead after being cooked.....
I would eat them anyways because they were "healthy" or so I thought... I've always been a vegetarian (and vegan most of my life) so I always thought that eating cooked veggies was good for you. Of course, now I know that eating RAW veggies are good for you not cooked! Cooked is dead!

I've also learned to like and appreciate certain fruits that I never really cared for (mangoes, for example).

I started noticing and feeling my body gravitate towards mono eating as I have progressed further into raw. It use to be that my body and taste could handle a salad with lots of different veggies BUT now I only prefer (body resonse and taste) to for example: all bell pepper slices with lemon juice. Breadkfast is all one type of fruit. I've never referred to a book for mono eating as it is pretty simple :p :D eating one type of food for a meal.
Even when I look at a "complicated" salad, my body cringes. It's not conscience decision for me.

Shel Shel, are you half filipino or Hawaiian? :)

I've always been more of a mono eater. It is even easier to do this on raw.

Thanks for answering you guys. I was just curious. Sometimes I feel like that now...but then other times I want lots of different foods at once. :) Still a newbie...so, it's up and down...but it will be interesting to see what happens on this journey.
Actually, I have been asked by almost everyone I have ever met what "I am." :D And surprisingly...I'm never what people would think. LOL I am French on my Father's side and Cherokee Indian on my Mom's.
Growing up...in the summer when I would get a really good tan...had curly hair (it was the 80's :p )...they thought I was half African American.
In my teens at work...they thought I was Hispanic.
My brother-in-law thought I must be Italian. :D
I would love to be Filipino or Hawaiian...absolutely beautiful people. I am glad that you thought I might be. Thank you. ;)

I love the gourmet foods more than anything else. If I could eat like that everyday in every meal I could stay 100% raw easily. The only downside is that it takes sooo long to prepare and I have 2 little kiddies that demand so much attention so it's hard to be all creative. I change all the time, sometimes I love more salty dishes or sometimes the sweet ones... depends on my mood :)

Really? Now see for me...the idea of picking up a piece of fruit...and just eating...is so much more appealing than making an elaborate meal. I may enjoy that meal...but the work involved would ruin it for me. LOL :D During 2004...I spent the year almost entirely on Atkins. I know, I know...could there be a more horrid diet? I think not. I got really sick...sure I lost weight, but at what cost? And the thing that made me the most sick about Atkins...was all the cooking and greasy clean up. So, RAW is a dream for me. ;)
